“Mountains are a beautiful backdrop to Flag”
Reviewed 22 March 2012 via mobile

The mountain scenery is a wonderful background to Flagstaff. The ski area is really suited to its clientele, college students and teens. The trails offer decent variety and the snow was well maintained but bait thin. The lodge is college town all the way. Good for snacks and beer. They did have a selection of craft beers, thankfully. If you live here or are attending college here, it's a good value but not a destination to travel to for skiing.
Love those mountain views!

“Skiing in the Spring/Hike in the summer”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

In the summer, we love to take the short drive up to the San francisco Peaks ski area. You can purchase lift passes to ride to the top & hike around, then, ride back down. In the late winter, early Spring the ski resort is usually open if they have enough snow. It is a fairly condensed ski area, better for intermediate & advanced skiers.

“Pretty but winter 2011 was too warm”
Reviewed 6 March 2012

Lovely ... but pity this past winter was largely too warm while we were there to really see snow on the peaks.

“Arizona's own Sacred Mountain - Protect and Preserve Her!”
Reviewed 4 March 2012

These peaks have been sacred to the Dineh and Hopi and Havasupai people for thousands of years - just north of Flagstaff, already at 6,900 feet, they soar to over 12,000 feet and the snow pack that accumulates there provides much of N. Arizona aquifers their water supply, including Oak Creek Canyon. We strongly urge tourists to visit these awesome places but please respect them by leaving "a light footprint" while there - no litter, please! - and by supporting Mother Nature to provide snow, not artificial reclaimed water as some want... “The view of them is wonderful”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

You see them from everywhere... from the Flagstaff area, from Sunset Crater NM (great view) and even driving back from the Grand Canyon (on 64 or 180).
