Description: Coppa is a European-style cafe/bistro set amidst the mountains of Flagstaff serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. While northern Arizona might at first seem an unlikely dining destination for serious epicureans, Coppa Cafe's combination of talent and unconventional procurement methods have set the small, casual eatery atop the "can't miss" list of every discerning foodie from Phoenix to Santa Fe. Choosing to go against the grain of the franchise and chain restaurants often found in smaller-town America, husband and wife owners and chefs Brian Konefal and Paola Fioravanti instead favor house-cured meats, ingredients locally procured from nearby farms and ranches and foraged foods found in the forests around Flagstaff to incorporate into their dishes. Though their procurement methods might seem unconventional for the region, their talents are rooted in tradition, following lifelong culinary careers spent crisscrossing Europe and the U.S., Training under the tutelage of some of the finest and most decorated chefs in their respective countries. As Coppa's tagline states, the tiny, intimate venue offers "a taste of Europe in the mountains of Flagstaff," and the culinary team prides itself on providing just that through balancing local finds with progressive techniques, resulting in an unprecedented, sophisticated and pilgrimage-worthy experience.

We go here alot - because this bar none, is the Best Restaurant in Flagstaff. It is slightly niche - nouvelle cuisine, sort of... but the portions are ample to plenty, the food is elegantly upscale in look, and art on the palette. Based on my experiences in the Mediterranean, this place replicates fine dining on the Cote d'Azur, in France, and the finest Spanish venues. Having been through most of Europe, and a grown son who is an executive chef of nouvelle and fine cuisine in another state, I happily advocate you try this place if you want the best, and you are not looking for a greasy slab of something. And while this is the finest sunny breezy dining, you will not go broke here... The waitstaff is classically trained and balanced with a euro-like transparency -- with a smile, and the owner-chefs are very friendly with the their customers. If I can be blunt - of our three top restaurants in town, this one wins over The Cottage (also good), and Josephines.... I hope the continue to keep doing EXACTLY what they do and serve!

We loved this restaurant. Every bite was an experience. The presentation was just a clue as to how fabulous the flavor would be.

My son and I stopped at The Coppa Cafe for lunch while passing through Flagstaff. The food was excellent. We ordered meatballs, salad and a sandwich. You place your order at the counter and they will bring it to your table. Save room for dessert....the tiramisu is DELISH!

My wife and I popped in for a glass of wine and an appetizer before a concert. The size of the portions was frankly ridiculous. The whole experience was pretentious in the extreme. We consider ourselves sophisticated and well-travelled, and are acquainted with the concept of nouvelle cuisine - however, we both left totally dissatisfied and still hungry. If you want to look at pretty stuff on a plate, by all means pay a visit, but make sure you eat somewhere else first. We felt totally ripped off.
