We spent about 30-45 minutes driving through the cemetery, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We got out once or twice -- including to see President Millard Fillmore's gravesite. Very well maintained.

Who would think of a historic cemetery as a tourist attraction or a place to exercise but Forest Lawn is an incredible place for this and other activities. The cemetery's miles of protected roads with hills and valleys and incredible views or trees, lakes and a winding creek is one of the best spots in Buffalo for walking, jogging or bike riding and it's a good workout with the hills. The cemetery is also a fascinating place to visit the memorials of hundreds of people who shaped the lives of the nation, including President Millard Fillmore, Larry Bell who invented the helicopter and built the X-1 aircraft, Willis Carrier who invented air conditioning, the Fakir of Ava who was the first truly modern magician with a huge traveling shoe and who trained the great Harry Keller along with Thurston and others, William Fargo who founded Wells Fargo and company..... The list goes on and on and on. And the memorials are incredible works of art. A visit to Forest Lawn is a must-do both for locals and for visitors to the area.

It's a cemetery. Yes, a real operating cemetery. Some locally famous people are burried there. But, it's a cemetery.

This is a beautiful cemetery. A lot of famous people buried here. We even saw some wild life deer. A drive through was quite nice.

Board a trolley for a fee or take a walking tour, trolley is better, lots of walking if you do the walking tour. Visit many of the historical grave sites in Forest Lawn. Folks come out from behind the stones wearing period costumes, tel you who they were in life and then have a Q & A afterward. So educational and not scary at all. Day lite Sunday afternoon tours are wonderful. A large lake is in the center, a president is buried here, a famous rock musician and the Birge Wallpaper family, who designed many wall paper designs that fill the mansions that line Delaware Ave. in the day. l
