We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Cliffside Inn! Thank you to Bill our Innskeeper and exceptional service team..we stayed in The Loft and the romantic skylights, hot Jacuzzi tub and fireplace were our pre-Honeymoon experience!! We travel a great deal and this was hands down the most wonderful B&B Experience! It's true..the breakfasts were extraordinarily well prepared and the Cooking Channel should definitely feature your wonderful chefs! Eggs Benedict with advocado...generous fresh berries and yogurt and granola, juices, French pressed coffee--wonderful culinary delights of mini scones too!! Late afternoon appetizers and wine or tea was very enjoyable as a social experience with other warm and friendly house guests. Decorations were lovely for Christmas! The story of Beatrice Turner is fascinating as she was the home's original owner and fine arts painter that's all I'll share now so you'll have an opportunity to discover more history when you visit! We're planning a return visit in the Spring! Just loved it!

Lisa Ann,

It was wonderful to have you and Bob here for your honeymoon. Thank you for choosing the Cliffside Inn - we are honored. We are also glad that you enjoyed the Loft room and all of the amenities the Cliffside has to offer.

We agree, Beatrice's story is quite intriguing . . . we are just glad she no longer "lives" here!

We look forward to having you back with us soon.

All the best,
Nancy and Bill

We decided to take a last minute trip to visit the Newport mansions for Christmas.
Once we decided on cliffside the booking was simple........we did it right over the phone.
Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted and shown around the house and to our room. Our room was the "SUN" room. It was clean and beautiful and the music of the house was playing inside. It had a romantic fireplace and we could just glance out the window and take in the beauty of the water. I have no words...... we were just blown away!
Elizabeth was on staff both days that we were there and she is just the friendliest most helpful person on the planet. We really enjoyed talking with her and all of her recommendations were just what we were looking for.
Breakfasts were wonderful and the other guests staying there were enjoyable to talk with as well.
We look forward to returning in the future.

We live in Rhode Island so I've spent a lot of time in and around Newport over the years. My wife and I took a quick "kid free" one night getaway to this lovely inn at the foot of the Cliff Walk. The inn itself is charming---especially dressed up for Christmas---We found the staff and guests exceedingly friendly---quick to discuss the pros and cons of different restaurants in town and the history of the town. The rooms are beautiful and clean-----I believe that nearly every room has a gas fireplace and some sort of oversized tub. The breakfast was lovely-albeit slightly limited. You are given a choice of the meal of the day or told you could have eggs anyway you like it. We ordered the meal--which was a pumpkin stuffed french toast with a side of Canadian bacon. It was a little heavy for my taste and I was a little sad to see an order of regular french toast and bacon come out of the kitchen a few minutes later for another client---but I guess it was my fault that I didn't ask for it. My only complaint would be that some sort of a menu or list be provided at breakfast of options/etc. There is ample parking out front--which in Newport is not a given---and the location really cannot be beat. It is a quick walk to First Beach for those who want to stroll the beach. It is also a quick walk to the Newport mansions--although you'll need a car to get to the downtown area of Newport.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Cliffside Inn. We are glad that you chose us for your Rhode Island getaway. We are sorry that you felt the breakfast limited. We try to accommodate guest dietary restrictions with providing a wonderful breakfast to all of our guest. The dish you saw go out was for a gluten-free guest who couldn't have the traditional bread. Regardless, we are always happy to make any substitutions where we can.

We hope that you will join us again soon for another getaway. The spring is a great time in Newport!

Best regards,
Nancy and Bill

Other hotels and inns should train here to learn what hospitality is all about. Every time we stay here, we are treated like royalty.
We checked in and Debby gave us a great greeting, what a nice way to begin our stay. Marsha also gave us a great greeting at breakfast and the food is excellent.
Nancy and Bill who are the owners are very cordial with all the guests and treat you very special. Thanks to the both of you for surprise we will be getting outside, we are very honored. Thank you Bill for the compassion you showed us when we shared something that happened to us. Congratulations again with your new addition to your family
Thanks to all of you for a nice stay. Rick and Jacqui W

This was our first B&B experience and the Cliffside did not disappoint! Upon check-in I met Elizabeth who made our check-in seamless. We stayed in the Tower Suite which has a great view of the water from the 2nd floor. There is something magical about that suite. Bob is not only a great guy, but a fabulous cook as well. Our breakfast was delicious. We have decided to make the Cliffside a yearly weekend trip so we can recharge during the crazy hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Thank you for making us feel at home. We cannot wait to return!

What a magical review from "Badkidd", and a first-time B&B visitor! We are glad your experience was such a great one...and I am happy it was with us. The Tower Suite is a very special room; with the two floors, its vaulted ceiling and huge bay window. I love to hear our guests' first response as they enter the room! Newport is a lovely place to teak a break for a getaway as the holidays approach. Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your impressions with others. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Kind regards,

Bill and Nancy and the Cliffside Team
