We stayed 3 nights in The Trunk Room. Room was excellent, very well furnished, quiet and clean, on third floor. The large building, although in good order, is old, and dark and somber inside - a little creepy! The location is good, close to Mansions and the Cliff walk, but the high price reflects this. This has influenced my rating.

Room Tip: Trunk room is comfortable, quiet, is on 3rd floor: there are a couple more steps inside room (bathro...

Thank you for the review. There is a certain charm and ambiance to a Newport Cottage mansion built in 1886. While the towering foyer with its carved wood and leaded glass is pleasing to most, we can understand how some folks would gravitate to more standard surroundings. We appreciate you staying with us.

We stayed in Newport for two nights. As we wanted to stay close to the historic and cultural parts of the town, the famous old "cottages", and only at a short walking distance from the sea, Ivy Lodge was the perfect spot! It is a delightful, charming and homely B&B, built in the 19th century. The house is furnished with beautiful 19th century furniture and objects, and decorated with stunning wallpapers. The Inn-keepers are very nice and service minded and the rooms very comfortable. It was quite chilly weather during our stay, so unfortunately we could not use the relaxing veranda. The breakfast in the dining room is superb!

This is our fourth time at Ivy Lodge, and we've never been disappointed. Located within walking distance of Salve Regina University and the Newport mansions, Ivy Lodge provides an elegant setting with up to date conveniences. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and each morning there is a creative new treat for breakfast. (They accommodate special dietary needs, too.) The owners and staff are friendly, and go out of their way to ensure that you have what you need. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The Saterlee Room is a great couples' room; Queen Anne Room is also great.

Cannot say enough good things about this place! The owners were friendly, nice and helpful with everything and anything. The lodge itself? Absolutely stunning! We felt as though we were staying in one of the mansions we were there to see. Close to all of the action. Very clean. Breakfast was delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We have stayed for two nights, very comfortable and clean place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are always some snacks in the dining area. For breakfast, there is continental breakfast selection and option of single breakfast dish they offered, very good! I like to have choices but at this time no complain. The 20 min walk to old town by the water.

My husband and I stayed at the Ivy Lodge for a weekend getaway and it was fantastic. The inn is absolutely gorgeous and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the staff accommodated my request for gluten-free food with no problems. You can sit with your blanket and cup of tea and read books in the downstairs parlor by the fireplace, very nice during the coldest weekend of the winter. If you are travelling to Newport, stay at Ivy Lodge, you will be so glad you did!

We can't say enough about our two-night stay at Ivy Lodge in late December. This inn was suggested to us by our elopement wedding officiant and it couldn't have been more perfect, as a place to get married, as well as to stay.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and it was the most relaxing setting! The common area rooms as well as our room (The Library Room) were all perfectly furnished and made for a completely relaxing environment.

The owners as well as their staff members (we met two ladies on her stay here besides the owners, but not sure of their names) made us further feel welcome.

The breakfasts were fantastic! Tea, coffee and cookies were available throughout the day.

As mentioned, we also eloped here in the receiving room. Don, one of the owners, even volunteered his time to be one of our witnesses!

We cannot say enough about Ivy Lodge. It is beautiful, quiet, relaxing, in walking distance to some of the mansions and many of the other attractions the fine city of Newport has to offer.

Amazing.

Room Tip: Library Room is on the first floor.
