Had a few days of meetings and brought the family along. You can’t beat the Kahala. An outer island resort experience only 15 mins from Waikiki & downtown.
The property is beautiful and the service is amazing. My wife sent me this unsolicited text while I was in a meeting:
“I love this place. The service is awesome in an unpretentious and super friendly way.”
That is reflective of the wonderful staff that make the Kahala over the top.
If you’re in Honolulu, don’t miss the Kahala. Mahalo

Aloha. So sorry you had to work, but we're glad the family had a grand time. Thank you for sharing your wife's very gracious words. Will share with our staff. Mahalo.

The hotel was amazing, highly recommend booking a session with the photographers on staff! The kids loved seeing the dolphins and turtles and the buffet breakfast was great. We would certainly go back.

We stayed here with eleven people , age range of 23 to 88, spread over six different types of rooms. We were very well taken care of at every turn.
The rooms are extremely comfortable, spacious with all the amenities you could want. The property itself is massive with all kinds of different room options.
The large clean beach is perfect for sunbathing and swimming for all ages. There is a floating anchored raft which is fun to swim out to and jump off of. The snorkeling is very limited. There are plenty of well padded large beach lounge chairs with adjustable canopies up and down the beach and on the massive lawn. The lawn has plenty of room for play. There is a large pool which is slightly overwhelmed by children. The jacuzzi could be larger as it can’t fit enough people that want to use it.
The on-site Spa is elegant and the employees, masseuses and masseurs are very professional.
The Plumeria Beach House serves a fantastic breakfast buffet; we tended to load up here and have very light lunches. The dinners are okay and the menu is limited. Have someone go down and put your name in for a table at breakfast time, they don’t take reservations the wait can be 30 minutes or more, especially on weekends.
Seaside Grill is your standard burgers, sandwiches, nachos and tropical cocktails and non alcoholic cocktails. Convenient but expensive and not memorable.
Arancino is a good Italian restaurant. We liked it best for getting excellent pizzas to go, we would pick them up, and bringing them to the beach.
Hoku was a disappointment, the food and service weren’t at all matched to the price.
The Veranda was visited almost nightly by the 87 year old in our party for a cocktail and to listen to the beautiful live music.
Yes the Kahala is very expensive.
But you get more than you pay for, the price is justifiable.
A very special Thank You to Ryo Morimoto for his patience and dedication to making sure our large group was well taken care of at every juncture.

This is an amazing resort located only 10-15 minutes away from Waikiki. The beach is spectacular and although there is no surf it is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, snorkeling and just relaxing. The pool is small but there’s enough space for everyone. The food and service are exemplary and there is plenty of opportunity just to enjoy and indulge. We will be returning, hopefully soon ...

This is in a stunning location away from Waikiki beach, the other side of Diamond Head. The rooms are great - large, comfortable and some with good ocean views (although mine was over the hotel drive and entrance).
