“Great location, nice view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2012

My husband and I used points for a standard room. We were upgraded to a king room on the 18th floor with a view of the ocean and Diamond Head. The room was great, the bed was very nice and the maids kept the room incredibly clean. We would definitly stay here again, it is so close to everything you want to do in Waikiki.

Room Tip: You definitly want to be on higher level and you might want to be on the side facing away from Diamo...

We stayed at this hotel twice in transit to the US Mainland. The first time we had a room with a partial view of the sea on a high floor which was fine. The second time we were low down right on top of the extractor fans for the restaurant, which turned on and off all the time and we had the restaurant fumes constantly. The rooms were identical on each occasion..Comfortable beds with nice linen and choice of pillows. Counter top for bathroom had plenty of space for everything. Bathroom had shower and no bath. Everything was nice and clean and plenty of towels. Rooms have balconies but they were right next door to the next room so not at all private. Hotel in good location right in the heart of everything. Perfectly fine for a short stay but I don't know whether I would have liked to have stayed longer there. Check in clerk pointedly told us check in was at 3pm - when we arrived at 2.45! Spent some time checking to see whether the room was ready!

Room Tip: Choose a high floor away from the extractor units.

Aloha traveloftenf and thank you for your comments! Our ohana is pleased to hear that in general, you enjoyed your stay here at the Beachcomber. Regarding your front desk comment, we'll remind our team to be more cognizant of arrivals waiting to get into their rooms. And with regards to the fans, we plan to replace those with new units in the near future. Again, thank you for staying with us and we do look forward to hosting you again when you return to Honolulu. Mahalo, Dean.

If you don't want to spend the big dollars to stay at one of the big hotels on the beach then this hotel is a great alternative. It is only a block from the beach on one of the main shopping streets.

The rooms are a big size nicely decorated. Most rooms have two double beds and the bathroom is a good size, all have balconies. There is really no room service except the usual housekeeping and amenities are a bit tight for example no bottled water is supplied.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay the extra $20 a night and get a room on a high floor with a view. The side facing Diamond Head i...

I recently visited the the Holiday Inn Beachcomber Resort to see 'Lani (Misalucha) in Waikiki'. The hotel is clean, conveniently located near everything and the staff very friendly. As it turns out, this was the perfect venue to see Lani Misalucha perform. Four stars for the Beachcomber, 5 stars for Lani.

If you are, or plan to be, in Honolulu soon, I highly recommend getting yourself over to the Beachcomber to see this show.

The voice of an angel!! OMG!!! A simply breathtaking performance! I'm soooo glad I heard about Lani. How did I not know about her sooner?!

My review simply cannot do justice the experience of being in the presence of Lani when she performs.

If Lani's rendition of Minnie Riperton's Classic, "Loving You" does not touch a tender place deep within your soul, you may want to see a doctor. ;-)

As funny as she is a talented singer and a beautiful performer, Lani ranks among the top in terms the wondrous beauty I've experienced since my move to Waikiki a few months ago.

Just a warning: It will be difficult, if not impossible to remain in your seat. You'll be inspired--even compelled to pop up and sing....dance...greet those seated near you and maybe even go out for Pu Pu's after the show.
Lani is a must-see while in Waikiki.

Another beautiful, talented and breathtaking performer I recommend seeing is Kanoe Miller. She performs at Halekulani and never fails to captivate.

Aloha Rachelie_Beach and thank you for your comments on your recent hotel stay! It's especially pleasing to hear from residents right here on Oahu - thank you for your support. We certainly appreciate your kind words about our hotel and most especially about Lani Misalucha. We at the hotel feel that Lani's the best vocalist in Hawaii and your words such as amazing, beautiful and breathtaking help support just that! We hope that you'll be back with us in the future and in the meantime, spread the word about Lani's new show - Return to Paradise! Mahalo, Dean.

Staff were helpful, right next to sea, We Stayed there 5 nights during the second week of our holiday. Wish we had stayed there during our whole week in Honolulu, but we booked with a hotel one block further from Waikiki beach which wasn't as nice.
Upon arriving, the concierge had everything ready: breakfast passes, keys. They're very organized. Our room was clean, comfortable, everything was new, and was fully equipped with central air, not the noisy a/c units. We got the partial ocean view as we chose, unlike some other hotel advertisements that didn't produce. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Lots to choose from and friendly and professional waitstaff and hosts. If a big swimmimng pool is important go to the Hilton and pay big bucks. If not, I checked out most every other hotel on the 'strip' and despite what you may see on the internet, they are all nearly the same size as this one or more money. We did not find the noise from the street a factor.

Room Tip: 6th floor was great

This place was perfect! We got upgraded to the one of the top floors facing diamond head/oceanview. It was great waking up and sitting on the balcony, drinking Kona coffee, hearing the waves of the ocean, and watching the sun rise. We were here during the Kamehameha Festival (fun time to go to Waikiki). One of the nights, right in front of the hotel there was a street party, there were local artists selling great hand made items, delicous food, music, live hula, and so much more. We were just lucky it was going on the during the time we stayed in Waikiki. On to the room...it was very clean and ready when we needed it. The staff was helpful with advice. The location is perfect very close to all the good stuff. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a very easy checking - thanks Mark. After a long flight from Nova Scotia, it was appreciated.. We were given a great room on the 15th floor with a view of the ocean and the Royal Hawaiian pink hotel. We walked all over the area taking in the street entertainment. Not too far from the famous beach, we were able to take in a swim before check out. We would stay here again, for sure. Thank you again Holiday Inn.

Aloha nanaKNovaScotia and thank you for your kind words! You certainly did come a long way and we're delighted that we were able to accommodate and fulfill your hotel needs. Yes, our location is superb, but it especially pleases me that you mention our employees. Our team takes great pride in taking care of the many guests that make the Beachcomber their home here in Honolulu, and we're very appreciative of your compliments.
