We've stayed at this hotel many times and I've found the only rooms I can recommend are the higher floor oceanfront rooms. As someone who suffers from migraines noise is a big issue for me and I need to be able to get a full night's sleep. In this hotel the side rooms always have noise from the aircon units on the rooftops adjacent. The front rooms used to be fine and just have the usual Waikiki traffic noise but unfortunately now they have put a new pub in downstairs that's not the case.

This time we had a room directly above the pub and reception told us that it would close around 11 each night - not so. Our experience was that the noise (drunk people cheering and yelling etc) went until 1am every night and was then followed by tables and chairs being dragged around as the staff cleaned up...and then at 5:30 the next morning we were awoken by the tables and chairs being dragged back out again for breakfast. I sleep with ear plugs in and could still hear all this like it was in the room with us.

We had to deal with this for half the stay until a room up higher (13th floor) away from the pub opened up and we could pay an arm and a leg to move up there. Once up there it was all good. So if you can afford the premium rooms definitely go for them or if you're not bothered by the noise any room is good. Hopefully when the hotel does their new renovations they'll add some soundproofing because most people go to a hotel to sleep, not listen to drunk people party.

Everything else in the hotel is good. Location is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious, housekeeping are lovely as always and so are the front desk staff - particularly Sam, Michael and Reslyn who helped us out getting moved to a new room and were very kind and understanding.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor, oceanfront room away from the pub.

We stayed there for 3 nights and overall we were more than happy with our choice. Perfectly located just a block from the beach and so close to everything you need.

We had a suite which was good and view of Waikiki beach from our balcony. The lobby has a travel expert which we found really convenient and helpful.

A good experience if you are looking something close to the beach without the hefty $$

Aloha 032hfc,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us here at the Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger and for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We value your feedback and I am happy to hear that you enjoyed our hotel and great central location. This can be very convenient to get around on foot especially because parking is so limited in Waikiki. Our goal is for all of our guests to be comfortable and relaxed throughout their stay. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and we hope to see you again!

Mahalo!

Perfect!
After reading many reviews on this hotel we chose it as our honeymoon destination and we were not disappointed. On arrival to our room we found a complimentary bottle of prosecco congratulating us....this was a lovely surprise.
The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Waikiki, just a few minutes walk from the beach.
We paid extra for a full sea view on the top floor which we would definitely recommend as it was wonderful each morning waking up to the beautiful clear blue sea view. However, the only downside to this were the extremely noisy air conditioning units of the shoos below which continued day and night.
However, dispite this we had a wonderful honeymoon and would not hesitate returning to the Waikiki beachcomber.

My wife and I stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber for the first night of our Babymoon. Our stay on Oahu was just a detour to see a friend before going on to Maui. I only mention that because during our search, we just needed a decent accommodation for the single night. After a short search, Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber hit the check marks.

We arrived very early to the hotel because of our flight arrangements. Serena told us that since we we're early to check back in a few hours later and assured us that our luggage would be safe while we filled a few hours. That was expected. We came back to the hotel in the early afternoon. Even though it was still sometime before she recommended we check back in with her, we decided to give it a shot anyway. Serena was able to get us a room and even upgraded us. As she also told us, our bags were promptly delivered to us. And another welcome surprise was when she called our room to tell us that room that a box of chocolates would be delivered to our room in celebration of our incoming son.

I'd also like to give recognition to Jenny. On the morning of check-out day, we asked Jenny if we could check out a little later than check-out time since we wanted to have a lunch around town without having to have our luggage stored again. In short, she gave us a much later check-out time than we required.

In short, this property is clean, well-located along Kalakaua (very short walk to the beach across the street), and the service we received was very top-notch. Thank you again Serena and Jenny for making our simple 1-night stay very welcome.
