We booked 2 Superior - Ocean View rooms here for 1 night after a 10 hour flight from Washington DC. Both rooms had an amazing view of Waikiki ,the mountains and the ocean. With the well placed mirrors in our room, the room felt large and you could see all of these views while lying in bed. The area near the hotel is much quieter and much more relaxed than central Waikiki. We had a lovely breakfast, with an ocean view, at the shaded Hau Tree Lanai restaurant in the hotel. Everyone in our group of 4 adults enjoyed their delicious a la carte food. You should call ahead to get a good table for breakfast. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki at the end of our trip and we preferred the New Otani.

Room Tip: go for the Superior Room - Ocean View

We spent two nights at the hotel. We were very pleased with the Ocean Front Superior room. It was right on the beach with a large lanai. The morning skies were beautiful as were the sunsets too. We even saw a monk seal swim up to the shore one morning! The room was very clean and everyone was extremely courteous. Both restaurants on the property were excellent. It's away from the hustle and bustle of central Waikiki, but within a walkable distance. The peacefulness at night was nice. We are looking forward to another stay next year!

We came off a cruise and they let us check in 6 hours early and the next day check out late. They upgraded our room for free. While enjoying their shaded beach area in front of their hotel a monk seal beached. The whole experience was magical.

The room was clean, large, and quiet. The lanai looked out at Diamond Head though we could have gotten a beach view. The serene courtyard in the middle of the hotel was very peaceful. Beach towels are provided, beach chairs are $5 to rent, and it’s a convenient & easy 10 minute walk to a store for beach snacks, sunscreen, etc. There was a convenience store on site. Close by was The Barefoot Cafe a Delicious on-the-beach restaurant that served breakfast, lunch, and dinner for very reasonable prices.

The location is awesome, right at the beach, with a private beach that is just like a swimmable pool and you won't have to worry about rocks unlike the rest of the wakiki beach. It's also right next to the aquarium which they have an awesome Luau, it is also 1 mile away from all the stores and restaurants and the walk there is beautiful. Nice place nearby to run or enjoy a beautiful walk.

Room Tip: Don't buy the partial ocean view, you will almost not see it at all.

My husband and I got a room here after returning from Maui and for our last night in Hawaii before heading home via Honolulu airport. Some of the reviews had mentioned it being a little tired in appearance and I would say partially true but I would also say still very comfortable. The inner courtyard of the upper floors is very plain and nothing to look at but it doesn't affect the comfort of the room or the overall stay. I was very impressed with the room, not deep at all but wide which is a little unusual but works with a small footprint. We had an upgraded room on the 8th floor facing Waikiki and the entire outer wall was windows. It had a balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs and provided incredible views of the entire expanse of Waikiki, the ocean and part of the inland hills, which is something you cannot get FROM Waikiki beach. We were able to get late reservations for dinner at the restaurant downstairs and everything was wonderful. Dining was outside and under trees and torch lighting, with sounds of the waves, views of the beach and views of fireworks on the other side of Waikiki (which occurs every Friday night). It was simple and romantic, convenient and a perfect way to end our Hawaiian adventure. The room was cool and the bed comfortable and I even loved the hair products they provided!!

Room Tip: Suggest higher floor facing Waikiki.
