Valet was amazing, not sure his name but he greeted me by name every time I left the room. Rooom was great. Very quiet. Didn’t eat at buffet so can’t review it. Close to a lot of restaurants in walking distance.

I was only there for a night to attend a conference (convention center is only a couple blocks from the hotel-easy walk). From valet to check-out, I probably encountered about 8 employees and each one greeted me with a smile and all were very helpful. Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance too. Room and bathroom were clean, spacious and modern. Definitely a good hotel pick!

Outside and in the street-level lobby, the hotel is the old, historic Enquirer Newspaper building. Inside, from the 2nd floor main lobby, breakfast area and workout room to the guest rooms, the hotel has all the modern decors and amenities that made for a perfect stay. The front desk and (complimentary) breakfast staff is friendly and accommodating. The elevators come quickly, as does the valet with your car. We had a lovely, LARGE, quiet corner room on the top floor with an ample work desk and a beautiful view. The rates are reasonable, and the location, surrounded by theatres and top restaurants, could not have been better. This was truly one of the best hotel experiences we have had.

We booked a room 6 months out for after our wedding and confirmed 48 hours prior to our reservations and paid the room at that time. Once we arrive that night, the person at the front said that they had overbooked the hotel and didn't have any rooms left. After having us wait for close to an hour, it was confirmed that we did not have a room- that we had already paid for. We were told that the adjacent hotel, Homewood Suites would cater to us and provide us a room. Once walking over there, immediately after this was told to us, they had no clue what we were talking about. Once the people at Hampton and Homewood spoke, they gave us a room key. Once we got to the room, the key didn't work. After exchanging keys and going back to the room, the reason the key didn't work is because someone else was already staying in that room! Long story short, after a two hour ordeal with both hotels we still didn't have a room on our wedding night, they still haven't refunded us, and I still haven't been able to speak to a manager. Terrible hotel service and will never book with Hampton again.
