We have stayed here twice and we love this location. It is easy off the Interstate with lots of restaurants and shopping.

I stayed here for business related travel. I had a King room, very spacious, good sized fridge, microwave, nice tv. While I was they upgraded the lamps in the room to something more modern. It was HOT when I was there and I prefer open windows to AC, and I was able to have both, the 5th floor windows opened about 4 inches. Good food nearby and a Meijer across the street. The continental breakfast was very good. The traditional bagels, cereal, yogurt as well as pancakes, eggs, biscuits, gravy, cinnamon rolls... and all hot. In the same room as breakfast was a tv tuned to the morning news and it was a nice sitting area with a fireplace. They also have a small exercise room. It was very quiet and peaceful. My only complaint was I could not seem to get hot water at night, but it was perfectly fine for the morning shower.

Room Tip: the higher floors give you a nice view, it is not exactly mountains and rivers but it is hilly and n...

Dear Megan A,
Thank you for the detailed review of our hotel. We are thrilled with your comments! We appreciate the information regarding the hot water, this issue will be addressed immediately. We like to think we have the best select service breakfast selection and accompanying dining space in town! The morning sunlight that pours into the dining space is also a bonus.

We look forward to your next stay!

Sincerely,
General Manager

My daughter and I were in town for a tennis tournament. Room was plenty big with 2 comfortable beds and plentiful pillows. We liked having the mini refrigerator in the room to keep her sports drinks cold. Breakfast was very good. Very clean, very nice setting.
Donna was especially helpful while getting our breakfast. Would not only recommend this hotel, but am also planning on staying here again in the future.

We stayed here because we couldn't find a booking closer to the Lawrenceburg casinos. The space was quite roomy, and the area was clean. Nice breakfast, and there's a large, new-ish shopping center just a hop and skip down the street.

The only downside was the bed itself. It was rather hard, wiggly, and sort of caved in a bit in the middle. But it wasn't a deal breaker. We did smell smoke a bit. We're not smokers, but faint smoke smells don't offend us, so that wasn't a big issue. We stayed on the main floor, so if occasional cig smell offends you, you might want to choose the upper floors.

A pleasant stay; if Lawrenceburg is booked, we'd gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor if you want to make sure there's no wafting smoke odor.

Jaxrabbit,
Thank you for the review comments. Our staff does a terrific job pampering our guests and keeping the hotel safe and clean. We cater to many people at the Holiday Inn Express Cincinnati West, including those that smoke and those with pets. Its not easy trying to keep the smell of smoke isolated, however we will do a better job.

We recently purchased new mattresses for an entire floor, come give them a second try.

What will it take to make us your choice hotel when visiting the Casinos? When the Horseshoe Casino opens in late 2012, please give us a call.

We look forward to seeing you again!

Sincerely,
General Manager

Stayed here for four nights while visiting family. The desk, housekeeping and breakfast staffs were excellent. They had a very good variety of breakfast items in the very large breakfast area, with tv and fireplace. The room was very nicely appointed and very clean. They have a flat screen TV, large desk and two phones and a choice of soft or firm pillows. All furniture, bedding and drapes were excellent. The separate vanity area is large and very nice. This hotel is about 1-2 years old and still looks new. We would definitely stay here again and our daughter and son-in-law had another room and this was their second time to stay at this location.

Very clean. Very friendly. Up to date. The best breakfast area in a free-breakfast hotel that I've seen in a long time. Nice selection including eggs, sausage, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal and an automatic pancake (not waffles) maker - I never saw one of those before. About 20 tables in a huge airy room with a 2 story fireplace and big wondows, all kept stocked and clean by a friendly lady named Donna.

I am a the student pastor at a church in the Indianapolis area and I brought about 40 students to this hotel for our yearly ski trip. This was our first time staying at the hotel and I was a bit curious as to how the hotel would be and how the hotel staff would respond to that many teenagers. :) We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, well-kept and beautiful and the staff was very helpful and courteous, even when we ate most of their food in the breakfast area. The breakfast area attendant was especially kind and helpful to us, though I can't recall her name exactly. The Great Room (breakfast area) was very spacious and beautiful and my students had a great time hanging out there in the evenings. All in all, we had an amazing time on our trip and we are planning on making this hotel a part of our ski trip each year from now on. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Thanks Holiday Inn Express Cincy.
