“Nice enough hotel - comparatively good value”
Reviewed 7 October 2011

Stayed here en-route from NYC to Niagara Falls.
Struggled to find anywhere in Finger Lakes region that would take 1 night booking during weekend or that wasn't ridiculously overpriced.
Microtel was the solution. By a cross roads, close to Walmart supermarket and fast food restaurants. Close to Seneca Falls quaint old fashioned town centre. We drove the mile or so down the road to Parkers Grill & Tap House in Seneca Falls and really enjoyed the atmosphere, reasonably priced local beers and great food. Chicken wings were awesome.
The hotel itself was fine, a little dated, but clean. Rooms were on small side considering what we are used to when travelling in the US, but bed was comfy and bathroom and shower was fine.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a free "continental" breakfast. There was coffee, bagels, cereals etc and that was all fine.
Overall I'd recommend for a night on your way through the area, especially if you can get a rate like we did which was less than half the priice of most hotels nearby.

This hotel was well located and reasonably priced for what we wanted to see during our weekend in the Finger Lakes. It served as a good base for exploring the wineries along Seneca Lake, was less than 15 minutes away from the Waterloo Premium Outlet Mall and we were able to make day-trips to Watkins Glen, Taughannock Falls, as well as Ithaca, NY.

The rooms were very simple but clean. The room we stayed in had thin walls (might have to do with the fact that it had an "adjoining" room to it) and we were able to hear people in the room next door laughing and talking late at night. We simply called the front desk to ask the room to quiet down and they did come to deliver that message. Unfortunately, the guests were still noisy and it made sleeping a bit difficult that night.

Breakfast was nothing fancy - again very simple (bagels, cereal, etc.) There was a business center with a computer - however it was always very slow and so it wasn't very useful at all. Wi-fi was available in the rooms at no extra cost but I wasn't always able to connect.

Overall, if you're looking for a simple, "no-frills" place to stay while exploring the Finger Lakes Region, this hotel fulfills that purpose just fine.

We went to Seneca Falls because we were taking a 2 day cruise on the Erie Canal that started out there. Since the cruise left early in the morning, we stayed in town the night before. The Microtel is right on Rte. 5. It was large, very clean and comfortable. The rooms were small and sparce but clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was quite nice: fruit, cereal (hot and cold), muffins, toast, bagels, eggs, juices. Coffee in the lobby 24 hrs a day and cookies in the afternoon. Front desk was helpful and efficient. We'll be back.

Paid 115$ for 2 people and 140$ for 4 people. Basic continental breakfast ( boiled eggs,
Toast and fruits) was included in it. It was a good experience all in all. Worth a try. Very clean hotel with lots of parking space but rooms were a lil small which wasn't a problem
For us.

I had no issues here at all. Room was clean, people were friendly, I would certainly stay here again when back there.

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights while visiting the finger lakes. On arriving at the hotel, I was given a key for a double room which I had booked but there was only a smoking room available ( I made the mistake of not selecting a non smoking room). The double room seemed rather small and naturally smelt of smoke so I decided to upgrade to a suite. The suite room was so spacious with a double bed, kitchen area, dining table for two and a sofa.
The breakfast room is large and comfortable and the selection of food is very reasonable. Bread, muffins, fruit, boiled eggs, jams, butter, cream cheese, peanut butter and other things. There is a large free car park for guests. The staff are all very young yet professional and friendly. They even have freshly baked cookies and coffee in reception for the guests. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel needs some work. The curtain in my room was not staying on the rod, the drawer to the one bureau/desk was askew and couldn't be put back on. The key system was not working that night, so each time we came in we had to request that the desk staff let us in. The ice machine on the first floor was not working. The area is beautiful and I will visit it again, but I won't choose to stay here.
