This was the 3rd YNP property of our stay and it was the best! I had read all the reviews about YNP lodging and knew not to expect TVs, wifi, etc. Yes, it was $$ but you are paying to be inside the park and not have to spend time traveling to/from the towns just outside the park. For all the traffic I saw as we were leaving, there was a lot of time saved! We actually got to check in 2 hours early (we just asked and our room happened to be ready). Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a minor mishap (fish hook in the arm) and they got maintenance to bring wire cutters so we could cut it off, then pull it out. All was well.
We had a room with 2 queen beds (that's all that was left when we booked) which was very spacious. Had a mini-fridge and was nicely appointed. I was very happy with OF Snow Lodge and would stay here again.

Stayed one night in the lodge but found the room mediocre. Location obviously amazing but the price was extortionate and totally exploits lack of other options available. Would not stay here again. Who pays for WiFi in this day and age

I spend a night here as part of my 4 day trip to Yellowstone. This lodge located at best location and give you the experience of living next wildlife and geysers.
Hotel rooms are pretty nice and comfortable. Be careful about Bison's in parking especially early morning or night time, I spotted one near to my car in the early morning
If you plan to cover all geysers, I recommended stay here and start your day early to cover all geyser. Don't forget to collect the expected timing of geysers eruption. It will help you to plan your day.
i would recommend seeing following geysers :
**Grand Geyser
**Beauty Pool
**Riverside Geyser
Morning Glory Poo
*Castle Geyser
*Daisy Geyser
Grand Prismatic Geyser
Old Faithful Geyser

Spent 2 nights Sept 5/6 2018 in Snow Lodge room 3047. Room was old and tired. Amenities lacking. Window which provides the only cool air was broken. Took several hours to fix and many calls. The problem with this property and all others in Yellowstone Park is that they are operated by Xanterra- with a monopoly. These people are not hospitality people, yet the run hotels and food/beverage operations- YEP!
The government should let Marriott/Holiday Inn, Hilton or some other professional hospitality company run the hotels. Instead these contracts are given to lowest bidder or a buddy or political contributor. GOVERNMENT run business just doesn't work.

Short food service hours, poor quality food and atrocious service (food servers, managers, front desk people). A reservation system that is a laugh, very user unfriendly- even for their own reservation folks. Take a look at the websites of every major hotel company and copy the pros.

I also stayed one night in a Lake Yellowstone frontier premium cabin. Same report, just leave out the premium and call it old and dirty cabin.

All of the Yellowstone lodging which are run by Xanterra, so it doesn't get better at the other properties.

But even these idiots can't screw up the beauty of the park

We then drove south to Grand Teton Natl Park and stayed at the Jackson Lake Lodge - run by Vail Associates - a professional hospitality company. DAY AND NIGHT SUPERIOR and same price as Yellowstone thieves, Xanterra.

If I was a camper type, I would camp in Yellowstone. But I would never stay at these Yellowstone Lodge properties again, as it is like camping while paying $350/night for a dirty hell hole that at best is worth $100/night. Monopoly monopoly.....

This was the roomiest lodging we had in our stay at Yellowstone National Park. These cabins are the furthest from the geyser basin. They aren't much to look at from the outside, and even inside are pretty dated. But, in terms of space, this was the best for a family of 5. Plenty of room to place an air mattress on the floor. This was also the only cabin lodging that had a luggage rack. The sink was outside the bathroom, and it had a good size vanity for placing personal items and washing out water bottles. A hair dryer and coffee maker were both provided. There was closet space, with a luggage rack, to store the suitcases and free up room space. We had windows on two walls, so we were able to get air flow, but it was chilly during our stay so the windows were not open very long. As with other in-park lodging, they offer a very small discount if you decline housekeeping and changing towels, yet they don't provide a simple set of hooks so you can hang towels to dry!
