The only positive about this is getting to know the Puerto Rican people and for that reason I gave it 2 stars..otherwise my rating would be 0. Always late, too many none sense directions to end up returning late because the ship made extra trips that weren't suppose to occur.
Going into culebra 1.5hours delay. Returning 4 hours delay and extra stop in Vieques for 2 hours... It is just not worth the hussle... We lost the next day of activities because of these delays..returned home at 3am when I was supposed to be at 10pm.

As I said, the only positive knowing the caring people of Puerto Rico...
Avoid the inconvenience and pay air tickets.

We got on the ferry to get to culebra for a tour we had booked, the line to get on was awful over an hour wait. The ride to culebra was ROUGH!! Everyone was throwing up, not a fun ride, the ride back was a little better. No order on ride, everyone did as they pleased and there were roached everywhere.

Sort of, if you don't mind the time you spend on the ferry. This is a brutal way to get to Vieques or Culebra but some times the only option. If you get seasick easily, sit on the lower deck, if available. Stay away from anyone looking sick or sounding intoxicated. It can be a really pretty ride, if you have time and patience, speaking Spanish helps. If a storm comes...el barco de terror.

The tickets are cheap but the experience is taxing because it is over crowded, difficult to buy tickets in advance, often behind schedule and the lines can be insane.

We booked a kayaking/ snorkeling trip from Fajardo to Culebra. We paid in full which included the transport fees to and from the islands via the ferry. First, we sat in line forever - over an hour and fifteen minutes - on the filthy ground and packed in like sardines! Then, our ferry didn't leave until well after an hour than it was supposed to! (Causing our guided trip to also be shortened in length!)

When the "guards" went over what I can only guess was the rules and safety precautions for the trip, my family and I felt we were at a boot camp where a giant man was YELLING at the people in our section of the boat in spanish and we had three more guards around the interior of the section which felt eery.

Coming back, the line was better, but again, we left over an hour late, causing us to miss our dinner reservations we had planned well in advance. There is NO taxi stand (our concierge said there was) - so when returning, make sure you have transportation set up in advance!

This needs to be run by a charter company with MUCH better customer service reliability.
