Overall good resort, but I would recommend the other bigger ones for people with families. eg: others have water slides and pool activities for kids where as this one seems to be setting itself up as more of a fine dining adults resort. Excellent for this. Even at breakfast they try to keep the kids to one side of the buffet to let the couples have a more relaxed breakfast.

Rooms- All rooms were modern and all with a beach frontage. Most 3br rooms have a private pool. Friends were in block 40 which was a 10min walk from the resort centre and pools. Luckily there are a few golf carts to take you up as its too far for the younger kids to walk.

Restaurant- 2 restaurants on site, Nuku has fine dining and the other has a more Asian menu. Kids meals are free when eating from the kids menu and with a paying adult. Sadly the kids menus are the usual fried chicken/ fish with chips and Nuku and the other place had chicken skewers with rice which was more healthy but the serving size was far too small, even for the 4 year old, let alone the 12 year old so additional rice was ordered. This was not an issue for the kids buffet at Nuku. A well setup feature with even the food on a lower bench that makes the kids feel special.

Kids Club- Small and basic, but enough to keep the younger kids at bay. Not as good as the clubs at other resorts. eg: No video games for the older kids.

Location- Easy 25min taxi ride from the airport and close to Denaru harbour restaurants which are either a 15min walk or a $7 Bula bus ride, or a $5 taxi

Room Tip: Lower number blocks are closer to the centre of the resort, the higher the number, the longer the wa...

Dear GiuseppeSusan,
Many thanks for your comments about your stay at the Fiji Beach Resort & Spa Managed by Hilton.
Your suggestions about the kids meals were certainly taken into account. We are actually about to launch new kids meals that offer a rotation of items on a daily basis.
The Kids Club is about to be relocated to larger and improved facilities, including video games for the older kids.
We all look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Best regards,
Frederic

My partner and I booked 5 nights here for our anniversary. All in all, I would have expected more from a '5 star' resort, especially one managed by Hilton. I have stayed at other Hilton hotels and have received far better service.

Firstly, our room was set up terribly so that the bed was positioned only metres from the front door. Given that the front door was located right near one of the kiosks, all we could hear day and night were kids screaming and golf carts buzzing past. The 'serenity pool' which was supposed to be adults only was never free of children. The buffet breakfast system was completely disorganised... The fact that we were on 'fiji time' was irrelevant, it was simply disorganised and poorly run. Often we had to wait a long time to be taken to a table, and because there was no system in place, other people who arrived after us were often seated first. Many other people with hungry children were very frustrated.

The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the moment we arrived, when a member of staff drove us about 5 metres in a golf buggy to our room, carried our cabin luggage bags inside, then waited awkwardly for a tip. He would not leave without a tip, leaving us feeling extremely pressured and awkward. I sincerely don't believe someone deserves a tip for driving 5 metres on a golf buggy and carrying 2 small bags.

The '7 swimming pools' simply did not exist. There was really one pool divided into a few different pools. Some of the 7 'pools' were so shallow the water went up to your knees. Hardly a 'swimming pool'.

To add to the disappointment, I complained to the manager of the hotel after our stay, with little more than a lame apology and a request that we let him know when we come back to stay. We will certainly not be coming back to this hotel. A disappointing experience, I would not recommend this hotel. There are far nicer ones in the area.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the centre of the resort so its quieter

Dear Ange M,
Thank you very much for your feedback further to your stay.
I am sorry to read about the series of very unfortunate incidents that took place during your vacation.
There is an adult only pool, as well as a serenity pool. The latter is dedicated to quiet activities, but not reserved for adults only. We are about to introduce a dedicated area of the pool to adults only, leaving the remainder of the area to families. There is indeed 7 pools, of various depths, in order to accommodate the needs of each group of guests.
I am sorry that you have experienced inefficient service at the restaurant for breakfast, I can assure you that this was a one off incident, as all necessary actions have been taken to ensure a smooth service..
A number of our guests are eager to get a room in the vicinity of the core facilities. However, we also entertain the needs of our guests in search of complete serenity. Should you have wished to relocate to a quiet area of the resort, it would have been a pleasure to make it possible.
I will be contacting you through private message in order to find out more about the incident upon check in, which is extremely unusual, and certainly against our standards.
I would like to apologize once again for the unusual incidents that took place during your stay. I can assure you that they do not reflect our usual standards of service and quality, and can only invite you to reconsider the resort for your next trip to Fiji.
The team and I look forward to welcoming you back to and to delivering the experience that you expect and deserve from a Hilton hotel.
Best regards,
Frederic

This was our first visit to the Fiji Beach Resort and Spa managed by Hilton.  As we have come to appreciate in Fiji, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was modern, stylish and clean.  We also appreciated the welcome note and gift, the luxury bathroom products, the daily bottles of water, the Nespresso machine and the daily servicing of our room (although our sheets didn't appear to be changed during our 7 night stay (however due to illness one of us was bedridden for two days)).  The walk from our back patio to the beach was less than a minute -  the water was crystal clear.  However, while some of the sand was golden, other areas were more dirt like.

Our package included buffet breakfast, which contained everything you could ask for  - including gluten free items, freshly cooked eggs any which way you liked them, and lattes/flat whites/etc.

For dinner, there were two restaurants to choose from.  While both were nice, we preferred Maravu, which served 'Pan-Asian favourites'.

There are a number of pools available (all located in the same area), one of which is designated as adults only however this was not strictly enforced.  That said, the number of kids was somewhat limited so this wasn't a big issue.

Golf buggies regularly run through the resort for the convenience of guests however having previously stayed at larger places, we didn't find the distance between our room and the restaurants/lobby/etc to be that great.

Conveniently, there is a little convenience store and bottle shop located near the lobby.  Wi-fi is also available in certain areas for a fee.

Port Denauru is only a 20 minute stroll away (or you can buy an all day Bula Bus ticket for $7).  It contains a variety of shops and restaurants, and offers a nice change.

Overall, we enjoyed our time and say a big 'Vinaka' to all the staff.

My husband and I stayed here from may 17-27. We are hhonors diamond member. We used hhonors points to stay here. We got upgraded to a one bedroom villa. It was great. It was a beautiful a oceanfront room. As diamond hhonors member, we got free breakfast and free Internet. The room had a kitchen, living room, big bedroom and bathroom. It even had a washer/dryer. There was a large balcony. The staff here are exceptional. They are always available and willing to help. It is a little ways to get to the lobby, restaurant and pool. There are golf carts that will pick you up and take you where needed. We walked mostly but the staff always asked if you needed a lift and always said bula. The pool was nice but the water was very cold. We ate at Nuku several times. I got the coconut chicken appetizer and it enough to be a meal. We walked to port denaru. It is a nice mile walk and lighted at night also. Wish the beach was nicer. That goes along with the area that we were in though. It was my husband's birthday on the day we left and our 20th anniversary and they gave us a cake. We used the luxury transportation arranged by the hotel for transfers to/from airport. It was a little expensive but worth it. We couldn't get a late checkout due to the room being reallocated.we did to use the showers at the spa before leaving. The staff and hotel are exceptional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

good choice for seaside location, pool etc.
however the tide goes out leaving mucky mud flats.
when we were there the watersports were operated by another resort and we had to walk along the beach for dive boat.

would try somewhere else for variety next time.

Dear crunchydog,
Many thanks for your review of the Fiji Beach Resort & Spa Managed by Hilton.
The hotel offers some non-motorized watersports. All watersports can be booked at the hotel, however, the pick up for diving, as well as the meeting point for most sports is at the hotel next door.
A number of excursions are on offer in order to discover more of Fiji, either on Viti Levu or in the dozens of islands nearby.
The team and I do hope you will choose us again in the future, and explore Fiji from the resort.
Best regards,
Frederic

Denarau is made for families. The bula bus lets you escape from your hotel down to the pier for approx $7fjd for a day ticket per person. We inspected a few of the other hotels but still felt this is the one that was the most contemporary understated elegance. I was gobsmacked at how great the coffee was. I had lowered my expectations as I wasn't going to a slick city - yet I could have been at a top class cafe - what a bonus!!! The breakfasts were great and they even had a designated small persons buffet (for the kids that is!!!). Great variety and a great setting by the pool and beach. The rooms were very clean and the fijian staff are so gentle as they sweetly "Buulaaaa" you as you walk by. We used the kids club once. It seemed to lack any sort of atmosphere. HOwever we did use the babysitting service which we were much more comfortable with. The lady who came to our suite made us feel like she naturally loved kids. We booked her via the hotel and the price was well below par of Sydney prices per hour, so it was worthwhile to have night out.
