My wife and I recently had an extended stay at Navutu Stars in a Grand Bure. We were both in need of 'time out' from the hectic pace of big city life. From the moment we stepped out of the seaplane upon arrival and onto the sand, we were enveloped by the warmth and generosity of spirit of team Navutu. Singing a welcoming song and then introducing themselves one by one....we knew we had made the right choice for our much needed break

This boutique resort (with only 10 bures) deserves all the accolades it receives. The resort lies in an idyllic location surrounded by the most spectacular turquoise and deep blue coloured seas, which at low tide present extensive rock pools, corals, sea grasses for exploration. There is a deep channel by the boat ramp in front of the resort which ensures that you can swim all day in these magnificent warm waters.

The food is superb; fresh, healthy and presented so well...lobster (caught the same morning) salad with the lightest of dressing, a glass of white on the main deck looking across the amazing colours of the sea was par excellence and a regular item on the lunch menu. The produce (vegetables, sales and seafood) all provided from the local village.

The tour to the village should not be missed. An opportunity to see the Fijians in their local environment and experience at first hand their wonderful spirit and warmth. They must be the friendliest people on earth!! A visit to the school is included and a principal provides some history and background to the development of it (take some dollars to put in the school donation box).

You have a choice to participate in the daily activities of the resort or simply lie back on a sun lounge on the beach, beneath a palm tree, cooled by a gentle breeze and absorb the spectacular scenery at your feet (perhaps with a cocktail in your hand). Stunning is not a word suffice to capture the beauty of this wonderful place so far from the madding crowd

If you are there on Sunday, do not miss the singing of the Lions Club Choir. The local kids dressed in their Sunday best visit the resort and sing songs in Fijian and English. At the end they mix with the guests and ask one million questions!!

But....this resort stands high above the rest when it comes to the quality of the team that look after you. They cannot do enough for you. They are gracious and smiling to their visitors. They sing songs at breakfast, lunch and dinner; they address you by your first name whilst you struggle to remember their names; they work for you softly and quietly and smile....all the time they smile. Team Navutu is the back bone of the resort. They make you feel like a friend. My wife and I celebrated her birthday at the resort; breakfast was accompanied by team Navutu singing 'happy birthday'; and the dinner on the sunset lounge with delivery of a birthday cake and a second rendition.

If you are planning to visit Fiji....stay at Navutu...take time to experience the beauty of a very special place on planet earth...and the superb team Navutu

Thanks so much to them for a memorable experience.

We visited Navutu Stars for our honeymoon for 5 nights and 6 days. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Our bure was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The resort grounds were spectacular, and the food was fresh and delicious.

Our favorite part of of the resort was the staff, however. They are what makes Navutu Stars a special place in our opinion. They were always there to help with anything our hearts desired. My husband, James, is a fisherman, and the staff (including the manager, Jeff) had countless conversations with him about the best fishing spots, etc.. They were so excited when James caught a trevally fish off the shore right in front of the resort! They even cooked it for us for lunch. Delicious!

The service was exceptional, and we loved Queen's stories. We also loved our regular bartender, William. He made the best cocktails and always had a smile on his face! Every staff member was memorable and made us feel like family. We miss them!

We would absolutely go back to Navutu Stars and recommend it to anyone wanting a true Fijian experience. Bula!

We took the seaplane in and was happy we did so. Flight took maybe 50 min and the views were amazing. I hear taking the boat takes 5 hours and is miserable. Spend the extra money on that.
Once we were at Navutu we were in heaven. The beaches were amazing, the staff was friendly and know you by name, the excursions were so much fun, and the food was what you would expect from 5 star dinning.
Words can't describe how amazing our trip was.
Thank you Navutu,
Tom & Chelsea

Also made a HD movie from our trip.

My husband and I had a quick 6day/5night trip to the Resort and like just about everyone else we could have stayed longer.

We had a garden villa and LOVED it - it was set back from the beach and therefore more private - cleaning of the villa done every day and the place was spotless.

We would snorkel twice a day and the photos below just do not show off how brilliant the coral and fish and how clear the water was - it was a tad nippy when first jumping off boat.

The food was good and filling and reasonably priced and I have to say that we did enjoy cocktails every night - well that is what makes a holiday.

We spent our time when not snorkelling - relaxing on our day beds enjoying the view, reading and catching up on sleep and adult conversation, chatting to other guests from all over the world - there were Italians, Danes and New Zealanders when we were visiting, had a couple of massages which were so relaxing - I think is should be a number 1 on everyone's list when at Navutu Stars - see Anna.

The test of a place like this is would we come back - was it worth the money - and the answer would be YES - if you are thinking about a great couples only holiday this is the place for you - but if you can afford it fly in and out by the sea plane - it is beyond awesome.

Room Tip: We loved our garden villa but seriously with only 10 on the island you cannot go wrong.

We only had time for a quick getaway and our time at Navutu Stars was relaxing and rejuvenating.
Massages, yoga snorkelling and reef trips are all available as well as amazing food. There was was wifi as well as good 4g coverage for those who can't leave their other lives behind and if you just want to stay around your massive 70 square metre room, there is seating inside, on the deck,on loungers on the beach or a hammock.
The one small issue that we had, our solar powered hot water going off, was fixed within minutes when we mentioned it.
Having been recommended by other guests to snorkel at a beach a little around the island from the resort, the activities team had a boat ready for me 30 minutes later, took me around, waited while I snorkelled and delivered me back to my Bure for free! The staff really are there to help make your holiday special and in doing so make you feel as if nothing is a bother.

Room Tip: Beach bures are lovely but I would be happy staying in any of them when I go back.
