Excellent mid-point stay on the Dingle Way; top breakfast!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 10, 2023
We stayed at 8 different locations as we hiked the Dingle Way in July 2023, and this was one of the very best. Lilian is very kind and helpful, the room was immaculate and well appointed, super comfy and clean, and the breakfast was amazing. Great value for an additional Eu10! The location worked well for a 2-night layover day to rest and recharge a bit half way through the walk, and was just exactly what we needed at that point. Kruger's Pub is good fun and a short walk away, with the Blasket Islands and Blasket Ctr nearby as well. High recommend!

This was easily my favorite stay on the Dingle Way. The owner, Lia, is very friendly and helpful, and went out of her way to help us, including letting us do our laundry, which was very welcome after days of sweaty, grimy hiking. The property itself has only two rooms but is charming, and offers a lot of space, including a private patio for breakfast. The village of Dunquin is basically a collection of houses and one bar, which is the most westerly of any in Europe, but gave us the true "rural western Ireland" experience.
    Thanks again Lia!

Room tip: Laundry is €15 a load, but very worth it if you're walking the Dingle Way.

Very cozy and warm b&b. Lelia was very nice and helped us to dry our clothes that were soaked because of the rain. The little kitchen of the studio was well furnished and there was everything for a small dinner. The Irish breakfast was outstanding. The only negative note is that it is a little bit expensive considering the fact that the breakfast is not included.

Room tip: Do grocery shopping in Dingle so that you can cook dinner and breakfast by yourself

After a beautiful drive we arrived for an overnight before visiting the Great Blaskett Island. We were warmly greeted and had a spotless room with a sink, and the bathroom was just down the hall. When we expressed interest in the islands, she loaned us several books to review with information about the history and former inhabitants, and called the ferry for us. This reasonably priced place had a generous breakfast in a sunroom covered by a grape vine full of dangling bunches - very charming.

Great location to stay along the way - accommodations are okay - basic, mattresses were a bit older and softer. Bathroom was smaller than I've seen but we had hot water. If arriving late please let them know- not very welcoming when we arrived later than expected. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Even the packed lunch was good.

Room tip: not many places to stay along the Dingle Way so, all available are most welcome. The Irish are very friendly and welcoming.
