Villa Lamaro is a beautiful big house with a great view on the blue sea. All the family (10 people) enjoyed the large terrasses (2), the pool and all the different nice bedrooms.

Our group of 6 stayed at Villa Lamaro (also called Luca) in September 2014. As others have mentioned it is very difficult to find. We had to ask one of the locals who was able to assist right away but they really should be providing much more explicit directions. The villa itself is represented just as the pictures show. The views are absolutely beautiful from the terrace. However, the inside is sparsely furnished and I will warn you the beds in the yellow and blue rooms are very uncomfortable and the bed linens are cheap and thin. The outdoor terrace was covered with ants. Also, the internet wi-fi didn't work very well. It only worked in one room and only with 1 or 2 people connected at a time. We had a few issues with the power, lights not working and no hot water which Luca was able to address for us almost immediately.
Overall, my general feeling was Villa Lamaro had a lot of potential to be a luxurious place to stay. But it seemed tired and worn and only the bare essentials were provided. Luca was a very generous and accomodating host and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. However, for the amount of money to rent Villa Lamaro I was expecting more luxury and more comforts.
On the upside, I would highly recommend YouKnowBoat in Sorrento if you are looking for day trip, via boat, to Capri. We rented a boat with a skipper for the day and it was the highlight of our trip.

This is a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped villa with a fine view, a lovely terrace, a small swimming pool and four double rooms with en suite. A charming young man called Luca and a couple of formidable ladies look after the place. We spent a delightful week here. But there are a few points to note. Firstly, it's not called Villa Luca but Villa Lamaro and, when we were trying to find it, asking for Villa Luca drew blank looks from the locals. Secondly, it's hard to find: drive up the Meta-Amalfi road from Meta to the road junction at the top by the San Pietro hotel and take the first right just past the row of shops some 25 metres beyond the junction, follow the lane round the S bend and take the turning up to the right; the villa is beyond the automatic gate. Thirdly, it's a bit isolated, which didn't bother us but might disappoint anyone hoping to walk to a selection of bars and restaurants. Fourthly, it faces west along the Amalfi coast, which means you lose the sun in the late afternoon. Fifthly, it takes 45 minutes to walk down the lane to the sea (longer to come back up) and there's nothing but a few rocks and an abandoned building project when you arrive; but it'll keep you fit. Sixthly, the master bedroom only has a handheld shower in the bath. Seventhly, don't try to play the piano: it hasn't been tuned in years.
Villa Luca (Lamaro) is an amazing villa in a stunning location with incredible views down over the sea. Everything in the villa was provided, including excellent daily maid service. The Owner Luca was of great help, especially when we bumped our hire car and needed some help finding a garage to fix it.
You do need a car here as it is out of the way a bit and out of Sorrento, but on the plus side this takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The walk down to the sea from the villa is long and hot and there isn't really anywhere to swim from when you get there, just rocks to scramble over. Can easily drive round to Marina Grande or Marina di Puolo for a swim and some great restaurants. Also easy to get back on the main road to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius etc.
