We had a bit of an accommodation disaster on arriving in Modica late on a Monday night. Unable to stay at our booked accommodation, we enquired here. The staff at Hotel Principe d'Aragona welcomed us like old friends at 11:30 PM and gave us a wonderful spacious room while making sure the Osteria down the road stayed open to give us supper.

We stayed three nights. It was clean and comfortable and Modica is a wonderful little town filled with lovely people and gorgeous architecture.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room 203 was small as I suppose were all the others. There was hardly room to pass between the beds and the furniture and the beds had a protruding wooden shelf on which we continually banged our legs. The beds were the narrowest I have ever slept on, turn over and you fall out of bed. They were not very comfortable and only one soft pillow was available. The bathroom was equally small with very little space to hang towels, the towels were on a high shelf and a small person would not be able to reach them. For us the only redeeming feature was its close proximity to the town. The breakfasts were very good with a wide choice. In our room the double glazed window had a broken seal and was filled with condensation between the panes and you could see to the street through a badly fitted rubber seal. Several other windows in the hotel were in the same condition. Our room was far too hot and we were unable to control it, we tried the fan but it made a noise like a tractor. The walls were very thin and you could hear every word from the next room. I can only assume that it has 4 stars because it had a car park and a swimming pool.

Room tip: They all appear identical, it's not noisy on the front.

Dear guest,

Your rooms aren’t all the same, your’s was a double room and

the size are as required by the regulations to be a four-stars hotel.

We have many pillows avaible for the guests, so we would gave you another if you had asked us a pillow.

About the window, it has alredy been repaired.

We hope your stay in Sicily was very nice!

We stayed at this hotel as part of a group travelling with Prestige Holidays. We were unfortunate to have unfriendly weather during our stay, but Francesca on reception helped in more than many ways to make up for the disappointing weather. She was fun and helpful, she helped when we all returned after our meal out with serving drinks and made our stay there so enjoyable. The rooms are clean and adequate, not the best rooms you could stay in but perfectly adequate. The hairdryer was most odd, but just about managed to dry my hair! The food at breakfast had a good choice and was very good. If I returned to Modica I would stay here again without hesitation.

Stayed here as part of group tour. It is handy for restaurants and bars, on a main road but not in a noisy area. Rooms clean and air con worked well, WiFi free but signal poor in our 2nd floor room. Negative point was the style of bed, which was on a platform arrangement with edges which protruded into the room, restricting the available space, already limited, and causing a bumping hazard - shin pads adviseable. Bruises to show for it! Breakfasts good and staff helpful. Outdoor pool which we didn't use.

We know the problem that contain this typeof beds, unfortunately this happens in some rooms more small compared to other. Just for this we are about to make a restoration of room and especially of the beds.

pleasant hotel near to restaurants and city centre. only drawback was the strange beds with protruding wooden base. nearly all our party had bruised and cut legs. I am on Warfarin and had a serious bleed. Staff helpful and breakfast fine.
