I booked this "hotel" for 4 nights. We forced ourselves to stay 3 nights only because of the money we spent. The rooms are dodgy and the furniture (except the bed) is extremely old and smelly. Let's not confuse vintage and rustic with the disaster we found. The excuse is always: "this is a country house". My grandma owns a country house as well and it is definetly more functional than this one. The sheets and towels are changed every 4 days, the shower runs out of water every day, breakfast is extremely poor and only sweet, staff almost inexistent, the acces road is a 4km bumpy ride in which you might destroy your car if it's a small one like ours, you can checkin only after 2pm, but you cannot have dinner because you can book that only during breakfast. So basically if you arrive at night, you are in trouble: no food for you. So you need to take the car and go up the bumpy hill again and search for smth to eat. There is no fridge, no washing mashine, no seif, no tv, poor internet because "it's a country house" completely isolated which is fine if it's mentioned BEFORE having the intention to book. The last night we left to a hotel because it was just impossible and unbearable for us to go up and down all day, searching for food and decency after paying 300€. The host is a old man who shouldn't be running any hotel/hostel/motel/country house because he doesn't have any skills for it. Apparently he doesn't like having children around because they are not allowed to run, jump, or do anything. So...it's a no fod families. It's a no for couples as well due to the lack of all the things above mentioned. Oh yes...and the view is spectacular! ...like anywhere in Tuscany! Do yourself a favour and book any other place in Barberino.

My wife and me just spent a week at Tre Api.
It is a wonderful place far away from the rat race.
The owner, Paolo, is one of the friendliest people we have ever met, he does everything he can to make your stay as pleasant as possible without ever getting "in your face". When you need him, you ring the bell, he comes down, helps you with whatever you want, and the he disappears, leaving you relax.
Also; he is a really great cook! The food he gives you has nothing to do with what you can get in your average Italian resto, no spagbolls here, but original Tuscan local dishes made with local products, and lots of TLC.
Every dinner was a ( positive ) surprise for us, we can definitely recommend the half-board formula instead of just B&B!
The rooms are very spacious, clean, and at night, apart from some wildlife in the distance, you don't hear a thing, so a good night's rest is 100% guaranteed.
The pool is great, there is a park, an olive garden, and even a playground, everything located not to close to one another. Just perfect.
If you drive a low-ridin' two-seater sportscar: the road to get there ( one mile ) could be a bit of an adventure.
As for us, Le Tre Api deserves a big 10/10

Paolo, the hotel manager, is a very kind man who devotes his life to make your stay at his hotel pleasant! He can speak Italian, French and English. The room is always cool and spacious. The swimming pool is a welcome refreshment in the summer time. The silence around the hotel is delightful and we even saw a deer!
The location is perfectly in between Sienna and Firenze, and the little village has three charming restaurants to dine. You can also choose to dine at the hotel: Paolo has a good taste and is an excellent cook! The food was always fresh.
The perfect hotel if you want to travel around the beautiful cities and if you would like to enjoy the peaceful country life of Toscane.

We spent a week in the lovely two bedroom appartment and enjoyed our stay very much. Even though you normally stay on a self catering basis in appartments, at this place breakfast was included. The swimming pool is absolutely perfect, and the appartment is very beautiful.

The location of Le Tre Api is in the middle of nowhere in a lovely valley. The road to get to the place is a bit rough but you can easily drive there in a normal car. Our kids loved the bumpy country road and thought it was great. It's a great place to get away from it all and if you are looking for peace & quiet this is the place to be.

We will definitely come back here in the future!
