Romitorio di Serelle

My husband and I just returned from an amazing week at Romitorio! The setting is idyllic, sitting high on a hill overlooking beautiful vineyard vistas. It's conveniently located yet seems a million miles away - very peaceful. The apartments are lovely, the optional dinners some of the best food we had, and the service goes above and beyond. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: All the rooms look great - they do a great job on the website showing floor plans and exactly what e...

We stayed a 3 weeks in Italy and The Romitorio Di Serelle was our home base for a week of our trip The central location made it a great point from which we ventured each day to Florence, Pisa, etc.

Loved the food in the restaurant and how you signed up before noon for dinner with the set menu for the day. The Family that owns the property made us feel at home..

Some of our best memories of our trip are our stay, our room had a great fireplace which we made the most of in the evenings. The entire property is beautiful with amazing views.

Very much recommend staying here as a family or a couple.

This was my second visit to Romitorio di Serelle and it was once again amazing! The location is perfect in the heart of Tuscany to be your home base for the week and still be able to take day trips to many diverse places nearby to experience all this region has to offer. We prefer visiting villages off the beaten path where we can get a true taste of Italian culture and there are an abundance of these nearby! Then, each afternoon, we had the thrill of returning to Romitorio, which is simply a little piece of heaven on earth! Marco and Roberto are such great hosts, always happy to help in any way they can! They, along with the others on staff here, are the reason that this place will always be where I stay when visiting Tuscany! The views here are extraordinary and there is nothing like sitting on the terrace, watching the sunset, having a glass of Chianti wine and talking with other guests from all over the world! The food they serve here is the best I have had in Italy! As you can tell, we left our vacation a little more in love with this place, as I imagine will be the case for many years to come!!

We stayed at Romitorio di Serelle in Apartment La Torre for 4 nights. It's a beautiful property in lovely surroundings of Chianti region. The owners have done a great job of renovating the property, have a look at the album left in common area and you will realise and appreciate the effort and care gone in to redesign the place. Apartments are well stocked with utensils with decent cooking area and if you need something extra the owners are happy to oblige.

We met Roberto and Marco who are very helpful to guide on the places to visit and the driving routes for the best scenic views of the region. Other staff are also welcoming.

The dinner is great, and while the quoted price may look high at first glance, once you taste you will realise it's more than value for money in terms of taste and quantity. One of the best meals we had in the Tuscany region.

Try it and you will be happy that you visited this place !

Beautiful and very well maintained historical building with a breathtaking view, especially for sunset. We stayed in apartment Il Forno which was furnished tastefully and well equipped with everything you need.
Apartment was very clean when we arrived, the weekly cleaning could be improvable as it was some kind of superficial. Shower curtain which tended to stick to your body was a little annoying and a shower with door or something similar would be so much better.
Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced, as well as the wine selection and prices.
Same for breakfast, very comprehensive, tasty and varied, especially for Italy.
Good service (thanks to Roberto!) and nice and clean pool bordered by olive trees and with a great view on the vineyards.
Very well located, a 45 minutes drive to Firenze, 35 minutes to Sienna and so many picturesque and pretty places nearby to visit. Or just go for a hike in the beautiful environment.
All in all we had a very good stay in Romitorio and I would warmly recommend it.

Romitorio di Serelle is in a beautiful location on the Tuscany Hills. We have travelled a lot in Italy, France and Portugal and unfortunately we were very disappointed with our villa - if you want clamping it is perfect. But the kitchen is poorly stocked and very basic and difficult to cook in. It was very dark and the bathroom also smelt constantly of sewage especially in the mornings. We had no air conditioning and got attacked by mosquitoes. The evening food was OKAY but much better quality of food in the towns around. I think for the cost you can get a better quality villa elsewhere and close by, especially with all the add ons.

Roberto B, Direttore at Romitorio di Serelle, responded to this reviewResponded 20 September 2016

Dear Ms. Lisa,
first of all I thank you for choosing our hotel among many other Hotel in Tuscany.
I am very sorry for the fact that it was not to your liking. Of course I am pleased to answer you to clarify it but also for the respect that I harbor toward our work that we carry out every day with dedication together with our employees.
I think that comparing an ancient building dating back to 1100 (in the Middle Ages) to a Glamping is at least "curious" but we, for our nature, respect all points of view. I reply to your observations: the apartment, you have chosen, has a large double glass door and a window in the living room. The bedroom has two windows on two opposite sides. The old peasant architecture of the hotel has not very large windows because, in ancient times, this solution was used for shelter from cold. Today in Tuscany, in the process of renovation of old buildings, you must retain the original features of the structure, windows and doors including. Luckily!! We are very keen to historic preservation and landscape of one of the most admired areas in the world!
However, every window of our house is equipped with mosquito net, so it is enough to have the simple foresight to close the door to be safe also with the open windows.
With reference to the bad smell in the bathroom I would have liked, as I told you at the check-out, you had informed us during your stay so that we could take action to resolve the problem.
This is also valid for the kitchen equipment. Any special request that is made by our guests, we immediately do our best to satisfy it .... (when request is done).
The equipment of our kitchens has always satisfied our customers (until now), and each time they gave us notice a particular need we have taken steps to broaden the endowment for all the other apartments. I will not write a list of the equipment and utensils provided , it would be too long.
The demands and suggestions from our guests are an invaluable resource for us. The customer has the sacred right to complain when there is no response and solution following a request. But if I do not receive any request?? We think that is a bit 'strange, having to talk about some inconveniences concerning his stay through Trip Advisor.
From our side we always strive to do our best, trying to create an atmosphere where our guests can feel at home, not always succeed.
Best regards from Tuscany
