I had the pleasure to taste the suggestion of the day from the weekend menu. Migas was the entree and Pork solomillo with moustard sauce as main couse were the proof that the simple and traditional food, well prepared, is simply the best.

In the basement there is another/second restaurant specializing in "cocido" a typical Spanish dish that is different depending on the region. The one offered in this place is made in a very traditional way, different from the typical one served in Madrid. It is modestly priced at €20 per person and comes with a dessert but drinks are not included (there is an alternative menu a bit more expensive that comes with mineral water and wine) Basically you first eat the soup, then the meats with the chickpeas and vegetables as a second course.

I have been in several "cocido" restaurants and though this might not be the "best one" I have ever tried I must say it is very good one and different. I consider it a daring move from the hotel as this is a very traditional dish and most likely you will not find this elsewhere. In this restaurant they only serve cocido. This is a heavy winter dish and typically for lunch, too heavy for dinner.

The people are friendly and polite. If you go to the reception desk they will show you to the hotel parking, for a small additional cost. It might be something to consider as the town is small and has almost no parking areas and most cars need to park outside of town, with the usual long walk. The location is perfect, right at the entrance of the famous plaza. Seating is traditional as well, old fashioned castillian style tables and chairs. These have never been very comfortable but for such a dish, that can be considered medieval, it probably has to be this way. Recommended!

We always had good food and service at the Paradores, our lunch at this Parador this time was disappointing, the service was unusually disagreeable, particularly the older waitress, the smell of paint or barniz was too strong for anyone to enjoy lunch.

We had a very pleasant evening in the courtyard restaurant (bookings required in summer season though it did not look entirely full to us (there is also an interior restaurant little patronized in the evenings in summer and a smallish cafeteria/bar which seemed noisy) starting our dinner in daylight and finishing in the dark with lighting exploiting the potential of the location.

My wife had pulpe a la parilla (octopus to me, not a fan as it happens) which she pronounced exceptionally good and I had suckling pig (cochinillo confitada y Asado) which was beautifully cooked, very tender and with crackling which melted in the mouth. Our starters were good, but unmemorable (except that one was served with something which was indicated as trumble on the menu and had consistency like crumble, in this case with some finely chopped chorizo mixed in). The wine list was adequate and we had one of the less expensive (Senoro de Morate) which was however a good choice at 23E

Staff were polite and efficient rather than friendly or helpful, but we put that down to shyness as their English seemed to be only slightly better than our Spanish. Overall a very pleasant evening and we would happily return. Total cost without the wine 85E for two - not cheap, but we felt it good value for money.

I have experinces several parador stays in toledo,Cuenca,Alarcon,Almagro,Leon,Santiago de compostela.
Parador de chinchon was not good in comparing to others.
we have to always wait at the reception because there is not enough stuff.
If you have a car, you have to pay 19 euro per day for garage where is located 300m away.
The wall of the room is so thin and other guest's voice and water sound may disturb your sleep like a cheep hotel.
You may not have better choice if you want to stay in Chinchon.
But I think you need not stay for visiting this small town.
I cannot recomend to stay Parador de Chinchon not worth for
it's expence.
