Great place to stay after a long day's walk. Bed was extremely comfy, shower hot and powerful, lovely evening meal with a pint from the bar and all topped off with great service and a cheery smile from Kath and her team. Exactly what you want from a walking B&B, great value for money. Thanks Kath!

I had a warm welcome and an excellent stay at Saughy Rigg Farm. It's a quiet place, warm and comfy and the food is delicious! Ideal for relaxing after walking Hadrian's Wall trail.

We stayed in one of the camping pods at Saughy Rigg. Cosy, warm and different with access to the bar and lounge in the farmhouse and a shower room with plenty of hot water. Lovely after a day's hiking along the wall. Fairly isolated, the nearest pub is at Twice Brewed a couple of miles away but we liked the isolation. Breakfasts are delicious - large portions and very tasty. The pod was a novelty but one which we enjoyed immensley!

We spent 3 nights at Saughy Rigg Farm as part of a Hadrian's Wall walk. Part of the service involved pickup and delivery from/to different points on the walk - the staff fitted this in with other demands so it wasn't immediate but all worked out fine. Our stay there was notable for the excellent food, both breakfast and dinner (plus a welcome cup of tea and cake in the lounge each afternoon), and comfortable accommodation. The twin bed room was functional rather than classy and the finishing in the ensuite work was not quite complete but everything worked and for walkers in a moderately isolated area without their own transport it filled the bill well.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. The B&B provides good accommodation and outstanding dinners & breakfasts at very reasonable rates. The rooms are warm and comfy, and Kath is an excellent host, and her team make a great effort to make you feel welcome.
People staying here should realise they are staying in an old farmhouse in the middle of a wilderness and arrive with appropriate expectations - this isn't the hilton and yes some of the DIY could do with being finished by a professional, but it is a good stop over in a remote site which provides first rate hospitality.
We had a good time here and would happily stay again.

Stayed for one night at this extremely well run establishment. Proper drying room for wet boots and clothes. Reasonably well stocked bar. Bedroom was more than adequate and the four poster was a real treat. Highlight was the fantastic evening meal with a wide choice of dishes.
A proper packed lunch sent us on our way and the lift back up to Steel Rigg was very welcome.
Outside the property it is generally untidy but this in no way detracted from our very warm and comfortable visit. Thank you.

We arrived completely exhausted at this B&B after a 10-mile hike along the Hadrian's Wall Path. At the reception we were kept waiting while staff members finished a conversation, then shown to a dark, cold room along a narrow corridor. We were told if we wanted an evening meal we'd be best to avoid a party that was already booked in to the restaurant - so to eat at either 6.30 or after 8pm. We just wanted to shower and collapse so we stayed in our room and were thankfully left alone! In the room one of us got a four-poster bed, the other a couch which was less than comfortable - random! The next morning breakfast was ok and we were given a lift back to the Wall Path - but only after the Tesco delivery had been and gone! This B&B was ok but I don't think we'd choose to stay here again.
