We arrived late afternoon on a Sunday. After a walk down the main drag, with most shops closed we decided to try the local fish and chips. We were not disappointed. Generous portion of fish in crispy batter, and plenty of chips..with a choice of gravy, peas or beans. There were plenty of chips and we watched a steady stream of locals flow through, which is always a good sign. Friendly staff. Well worth stopping off for a bite.

While staying locally we decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. It was encouraging to see that it is popular with the locals, and was doing steady trade when we visited. We did need to wait a few minutes but our fish was being cooked to order so it was worth the wait. Fish was really nice, batter very crispy, as were the chips. Best I've had in a while I would say.
Portion sizes are generous - I reckon a normal portion of chips would be enough for 2 people.
Overall very satisfied and hope to be back sometime.

Stopped off at porthmadog for lunch on our journey, we have passed this chippy previously and it's always looked quite busy, we thought we'd take them away as the weather was quite nice today.

Ordered the small fish and chips savers meal and was pleasantly surprised. It came with peas and gravy and was very good!!

The kids had pie and chips and both very good!

Ordered cod and chips and curry sauce, got cod and chips smothered in mushy peas.
Strike 1.
Food was lukewarm (all of it), in fact it was bordering on cold.
Strike 2.
Not unpleasant staff but zero effort at friendliness or interest in your custom.
Strike 3.
Fair enough, it’s a take away with a small seating area and not a 5 star restaurant but definitely needs to try harder.
It’s a pity because the fish and chips actually tasted ok(ish).

Popped in here last Friday evening as the local pub was rather full.
The chips were crisp and dry inside with zero fat on them. The fish cooked lovely not wet and crisp batter. These were in fact the best "Chip Shop" fish and chips I have had in a lot of years. Probably since my Friends Dads chip shop in Pickering 50 years ago... I kid you not they were that good !!
Very enjoyable no fatty aftertaste or indigestion.
