This was our third stay with Hosts, Michael and Lesley Walker in this beautiful heritage house (100 years old this year) in Summerland, BC, Canada. It is being kept in its original style as much as possible but offers up air conditioning and other modern equipment in well appointed rooms - all en-suite.
The house is a short distance from the centre of Summerland and has views across the valley towards the large Okanagan Lake. These views can be absorbed at leisure from the wrap around porch, on which comfy furniture is located, and the peaceful, well maintained gardens.
The attention to detail in the rooms as well as the facilities available could not be faulted. We were made to feel very much a part of the family. This included chatting over the breakfasts which were excellent both in quality and quantity.
One of the reasons for using B&Bs is to benefit from good local advice on where to visit. This was provided in good measure and included vineyards, a local car museum and where to eat out in the evenings.
