We visited with our girls, the Shangri la kids club as advertised on the website being what drew us to Shangri la Rasa Sayang Resort Penang in the first place.

We discovered Adventure Zone and Shangri la kids club/Cool Zone are 2 very different places despite looking connected on the Shangri la website.

Adventure zone, a selection of slides and indoor playgrounds accessible by payment for a 2 hour period - was fun, engaging for kids and required parents to join in or sit and watch for the time allotted.

The Cool Zone- an exceptional kids programme at Kota Kinabalu Shangri la and Sentosa Shangri la - is in need of a major overhaul in Penang. The cool zone is housed on the top floor looking over the adventure zone. The children look out on the fun and laughter of the slides but if in kids club there is no option of joining in.

The activities could include swimming activities, and add in slide options and many more but on the 4 days we were there they consisted of mostly indoor options. The programme is missing the fun, joy and engagement that the other properties so expertly manage. The lack of access to the adventure zone slides and playground is a big deal for the kids, and so invariably families choose not to join the kids club and instead spend endless hours inside the rainbow of slides watching their children- instead of enjoying other aspects of the resort.

There is so much possibility here for a successful kids club but currently this programme is in need of refreshing.

It appears on the website that these two options are linked as in other properties but in this property they are definitely not.

Hopeful for great changes as this kids club programme becomes as exciting as other properties in Asia in the Shangri la brand.

It caters for all ages. There are 2 zones, 1 smaller one for toddlers less than 3 year old, & the bigger slide zone for the older kids.

It’s clean & well maintained! Staff are very friendly too. Parents can sit comfortably on the chairs while watching their kids play.
Overall, I would say it’s worthwhile to bring your kids here to burn their energy while u relax.
I’ll definitely come back here again if I’m in Penang

This is a must do for anyone with kids, they do have a toddler are as well. But the highlights have to be their variety of slides, which is great fun. There are 2 steep slides that we did not try but kids age 10-15 were relishing it (scary though- i warn). The maze to get to the slides is also loads of fun, pricing is not bad but the place is NOT that big. But 2 hours will fly.

Amongst one of the best spot not only for our youngs(from 1 year old) but also to our teens & to bith parents too.

Located between Shangri La Rasa Sayang Hotel & Shangri La's Golden Sand Resort Ferringghi.

A fun air conditioned mini dry giant playground you could enjoy and have bonding moments with your family.

Please bring your own socks & wear long T shirts to be able to enter the 'zone'. If not, you will have buy them at the counter.

Rm30 per pax for an hour.

You can also book the place for birthday parties. They have 2 themed, pirate theme & a sweet theme.

This is one of my daughter and niece's favorite indoor places in Penang. 2 hours of solid fun in a safe environment! Recently, both tried the blue slide and they enjoyed it a lot. Next challenge for them is the red drop zone.

We visited Adventure Zone with our 4 year old grandson. The cost for 2 hours was around MYR 22 which is around AUD $7.30. The slides were a hit with our grandson and he really enjoyed the play area. Overall we visited twice as our grandson was so keen to return. Word of advice, those using the equipment will need to wear socks, (long sleeve shirt and long pants if you want to use the steep slides). There is also an are for babies to play in. All the equipment is very safely padded and staff are available at all times. There is a cafe which you can use if you are hungry or thirsty. We would definitely return with our grandkids.
