“Great place to stay”
Reviewed September 9, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Really enjoyed staying here. Susie was the most wonderful host; had organised transfers to and from the airport. Our driver Simon, was terrific, a wealth of information and most reliable, picking us up at 5am to get us to the airport on time.
A welcome gift of a big bowl of fruit was very much appreciated. The unit was very clean, had everything we needed including a laundry; this was so good, even laundry powder supplied.
The unit close to everything; bus outside the building, beach across the road access via a path next to the opposite building.
The view was fabulous. Would certainly stay here again and recommend it.
Thank you Susie.

“Great apartment, great location”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This is a lovely well situated apartment. After a hiccup with being collected from the airport Suzie met us at the apartment. My suitcase was also lost by Malaysian Airlines (apparently this is common) and Suzie assisted by contacting the airport over the following 2 days to locate it.

There was a lovely fruit bowl when we arrived and all the necessities were there; tea, coffee, dishwashing liquid, washing powder, toilet paper, hand wash, shower gel etc. This was a surprise as we have stayed at quite a few condos aound the world and have had to purchase these items ourselves.

The apartment was on the 13th floor with a great view of the magnificent sunsets and up and down the coast. The pool was lovely to use on the days we weren't touring around. Plenty of brochures on hand. The furniture is very comfortable, plenty of pillows in the bedrooms. Great to have our own bathrooms. A/C and fans were great in cooling the apartment. We also opened the doors and windows to allow the cool breezes to flow through.

The kitchen has all the necessities including filtered water. We ate breakfast there daily and only cooked packet noodles for a snack as there are so many cheap places to eat within walking distance and the food is delicious. The apartment is across the road from Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang and you can hail the 101 bus (no bus stop) to take you into Georgetown.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and shared a lovely final evening with Suzie, her husband and friends (accidentally bumped into her). She is a lovely and most generous host and recommend her to look after your every need on your holiday.

“At Batu Ferringhi Penang in an apartment? Why stay anywhere else?”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We have stayed in a "Seaside Holiday Apartment" three times now over the past 14 months. They were all nicely equipped and furnished, clean, modern, comfortable and excellent value for money. The owners, Susie and Jamie provide an exceptional personalized customer service. Airport pick up and delivery worked perfectly each time. We were met on arrival in the apartment and all explained, questions about what to do and where to eat etc were answered with pleasure and knowledge, We saw Susie several times around the place during each stay, She always inquired as to our well being and comfort and resolved the very few small problems we had. She then fondly fair welled us on departure. We would not stay anywhere else.

“Excellent apartments”

As we arrived around midnight at Penang Airport, Susie had arranged for a driver to pick us up from airport to take us to one of Susie’s apartment. We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment at “Sri Sayang Resort Service Apartments”. Cost rm120 for the driver, as it was after midnight and the 50% surcharge applied.

Susie met us at the apartment to show us around. These apartments are located directly opposite Shangri-La Sayang Resort & Spa. We had 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed (she also has 3 bedroom apartments), 2 bathrooms, kitchen, family room, laundry & a balcony (with a table and chairs) overlooking the beach. Each room had its own air conditioner, which we only used a few times as we used the ceiling fan in the bedrooms during the night, and in the evening we found by opening the balcony door a nice breeze kept us comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the activities taking place on the beach, and watching the sunset. You could see right along Jalan Batu Ferringhi.
I would highly recommend staying here, as the apartments were well furnished and very comfortable.
After living in small hotel rooms in Hong Kong, we enjoyed all the extra room and comforts, especially the comfortable beds.
There is also a mini supermarket on the ground floor, as well as a cafe.

Walked to Lone Pine Resort to buy our Rapid bus pass. Rm30 each. This entitles you to unlimited travel on the buses for a week. You need to have the exact amount to pay for the buses as they don’t give you change. By having the Rapid bus pass, we didn’t need to worry about this. To buy a Bus pass you must produce your passport.

Bus stops are located directly outside the apartment complex.

“Clean and Comfortable with Great Views from the Balcony”
Reviewed August 9, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

My son and daughter-in-law and I stayed at Sri Sayang for 10 days in late July 2012. We chose this apartment after reading favourable reports. I contacted Susie by mobile after departing Penang Airport and she meet us on arrival at the unit. My son and D-I-L selected the room on the left and I had the one on the right. The bedrooms are separated by the lounge, living and dining area. The balcony is accessed from this area by a sliding door, which we could not lock. Both bedrooms have queen size beds and a ceiling fan. The bedroom to the right has an en-suite but the other room has a separate WC. The unit was spotless and came with a bowl of fruit and some other items to get you started. There was an ample supply of towels. The TV came with a DVD player and Astro satellite service, with the normal channels including Australian network with a excellent coverage of live AFL matches.
I found my bed to be very firm and it came with 4 pillows. The curtains keep out the sunlight and heat. There are three separate air-conditioners allowing individual climate control in the bedrooms and living areas. The kitchen has all the modern accessories including a dish washer, which we didn’t use as we ate out most meals except breakfast. There is also a water filter attached to the sink tap. The washing machine and iron were excellent and certainly useful when holidaying. This is normally an extra cost when staying in one of the Hotel’s at BF.
Downstairs there is a covered parking area for motorbikes (RM$5 a day) but not for unit renter’s cars, they get uncovered spaces at RM10 a day. A convenience store opens at 0900 and is handy for phone cards, snacks and drinks. The pool is free form in shape and about 25 metres long and averages about 5 feet deep. Unfortunately, whilst we were there it was closed more times than it was opened, due to water quality issues. When we did use it we had no problems and enjoyed the cooling dip. The is a designated sheltered bus stop outside the units heading towards the West and whilst there was no bus stop sign on the other side of the road heading towards Georgetown, we were able to flag down a bus anywhere between the entrance to the Rasa Sayang Hotel and directly opposite the entrance to the Sri Sayang.
The Units are located at the far Eastern end of the Batu Ferringhi strip. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Longbeach hawker food court. The night market stalls commence outside the Golden Sands Hotel, which is about a 10 minute walk. There is a Taxi stand about 5 minutes away, opposite the entrance to Rasa Sayang. The street noise can be an issue for the light sleeper like me, but wasn’t a problem for the young ones.
I would recommend Susie’s unit for larger groups of friends wanting a cheaper alternative to multi room bookings at the Hotels at BF. We paid RM$250 a night with a 20% deposit required at the time of booking (PayPal) with the balance on arrival (RM$ cash).
