“A "Penang Iconic" dish prepared the "RIGHT WAY"!!”

Mady Char Koey Teow
Restaurant details
Reviewed March 12, 2017

People in Penang have their favourite places to buy this wonderful dish [hence the wide variety of reactions to Mady's version]. BUT, one also has a choice of many other dishes-- all of which are "much more than acceptable"!
If you were at the nearby beach or wish to visit the night market this makes Mady's an even better choice!
If it's busy--- there is a great reason... and, don't be surprised!

Totally not a char kway teow.
Regret.
Service quite slow.
Go to Sani char kway teow which is much better and cheaper.

By the roadside among from the others.. there is none other serves malay styled char koay teow.. either from two choices...a wet plate or a fried dry...which you need to inform. One could order from the menu..coconuts..satay...let the person recommends what dishes you prefer. Each stall varies its cooking...family recipies...learn from others...whatever that is.. try it today.

If you're a char kt sucker u should really try this! I would recommend both wet and dry style, but the wet is really good. It is one of the most authentic malay style char with fresh shrimps (only 2-4pc though) and fresh crunchy bean sprouts. Service was quite bad as there were many customers, but it was worth it especially when you're too lazy to get out from batu feringghi area
