This is the cheapest option you can get, but honestly it is not worth it. If you want to be close to the beaches (black sand), I would recommend you to stay in Kamari instead of Perissa (cuter shops and restaurants). I stayed three nights in Thira and for nights there and I missed Thira so bad... This is where the nightlife is! In Perissa, you'll have to either wait for a bus or rent a ATV. From Thira, there's a frequent buses to Oia and other places, but in Perissa you would have to wait a bit. My top 3 places to stay in this island would be: Thira, Akrotiri (red sand beaches, lighthouse) and Kamari.

About this place: We booked a triple room, where the wifi worked occasionally, we had cockroaches in the bathroom, but the mini fridge and the air conditioning was working well and the pool seemed clean. John brought us to the new port for free too. My friends found the beds uncomfortable too.

I absolutely adored this hostel. The hosts could not speak very much english, but they were so hospitable and kind. They picked us up/drove us to the ferry station, they offered us homemade wine and sat with us while we shared it, they dropped us off in Fira for a night out, and they made sure we had everything they needed. Always there to help and always smiling. The rooms were quaint and gorgeous, and extremely cheap. I wish I could go back right now! The hostel is in Perissa, so on the other end of Santorini than Oia, but a short 20 minute ATV ride into the heart of Fira for shopping and such. There is a grocery store and a 24 hour bakery just seconds away, and the beach, restaurants and little shops are only about a 5 minute walk away. We stayed for 6 days and wish we could have stayed for more!

Room Tip: One room had a queen sized bed, other rooms had singles.

If you're looking for a cheap stay that isn't awful, look no further. I stayed here with some friends as we were traveling over the summer. The staff was nice and friendly and the rooms had all the basics. Plus, it's super close to the beach!

Room Tip: All seem fine

We had a fantastic stay at Katerina and John's hotel. John was very hospitable and kindly gave us a transfer to and from the airport. The rooms are clean, comfortable and we had a lovely balcony to relax on. It is a 5 minute walk from Perissa beach, which has the most beautiful sunrise in the morning! There is a very reasonable rental place next door for scooters and quad bikes which you can rent to explore the whole island! There is a pool which seemed nice, but with the beach so close, we didn't swim! It is incredibly cheap and fantastic value for such a good location and pleasant hotel!

We booked here for 3 nights but ended up booking 2 more after the first night. It's perfect for backpackers or people just looking for a cheap room.

Awesome spot, right next to a bus stop and motorbike hire place so you don't need to walk anywhere. Restaurants and supermarket nearby. 2 minute walk to the beach.

Wifi worked in our room and was pretty good. Rooms have fridge and cutlery, however no kitchen was available which was a bit of a let down but oh well. Rooms have air conditioning as well.

The pool was really nice and is a nice meeting area for everyone.

Best part of all is that John picked us up from the airport for free, and we got a free transfer to the ferry port on our last day as well which saved us a lot of money!

We'd definitely stay there again if we come back to Santorini.
