My Wife & I stayed at the Panorama Hotel for 2 weeks in July, booked as a package with Thomas Cook. The Hotel is in a great location, built into the hills at the far end of Petra, on the road to Molyvos. The rooms are quite basic but very clean & comfortable. There is a charge for the air con & safe of around 50 euros a week, but well worth the cost as it was in the upper 30’s most days. Only downside was the quite useless shower & the shortage of clean towels & linen but it is Greece after all! We found the food to be of a good standard, & enjoyed the Friday night barbeque. The prices of the food & drink in the Hotel were quite reasonable. The beach at Petra along from the Hotel is good, but there is a strip of rocks to negotiate in the shallows before you got out to the sand, so beach shoes are essential. The town of Petra is typically Greek with a few really good tavernas, all were reasonably priced & the quality of food was very good. The nearby town of Anaxos consists of a selection of Tavernas & a really nice beach; we got there on the local motorised train that runs to Molyvos via Petra, which was great fun! We went on a day boat trip on the Saint Elana that went to a small ‘Caribbean’ type un-inhabited island for a barbeque, with a couple of snorkelling stops as well, it was a good day, even though we were the only English couple on board! The nearest main town was Molyvos around 4 km away which has a great harbour with some really good fish restaurants & bars. We would therefore definitely recommend the Island of Lesvos to anyone looking for a traditional & typical ~Greek holiday’.

My friend and I visited Lesbos for a week and stayed at Panorama Hotel - we couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotel! The rooms were very tidy and well-maintained - simple but had everything you need. The views from each room are fantastic, overlooking the town of Petra and towards the sea.

We were also extremely pleased with the pool area and the hotel restaurants; with their cleanliness, facilities and service. We had lunch at the hotel every day and ventured out to the local restaurants for dinner. I would highly recommend Panorama's "fredo cappuccino", iced cappuccino - a perfect drink to cool you down in the sun. The breakfast at the hotel was fairly simple but we found it to be enough to get our days going.

The staff at this hotel are very nice, polite and helpful - full five stars for the service!

This hotel is excellent! The location is perfect, with the accommodation cut into the hillside, surrounded with views over the sea, the surrounding hills/mountains and towards the town. The rooms are simple, lovely and very well presented, as are the grounds. The servicing of the rooms is top drawer. The pool is large, clean, tidy and relaxing, with plenty of loungers and shade to go around. The breakfast is simple but good and wholesome, and there is a varied menu for lunch and evening meals. The general vibe here, as with the whole island, is one of pure relaxation. If I had one criticism - and it is by no means a show-stopper - it is that the family who run the establishment can seem a little serious/reserved/distant, at times almost giving you the impression that they don't enjoy what they are doing! However, they are always civil, polite and helpful, and to be honest I would rather someone is at the reserved end of the spectrum rather than being too noisy or overbearing. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: All rooms have great views. The rooms at the top tier have the best views but have a bit more of a c...

This was not the first time we had stayed at the Panorama Hotel and so we knew what to expect more or less. The hotel has had some refurbishment since our last visit four years ago - although there was nothing wrong with it then! Our room was very clean with double bed, fridge, a/c (not used), safe (small charge) and shower room. The only small complaint we might make would be the lack of decent sized drawers for clothes.

This was the fourth time to visit the Island - it's great, no crowds, extremely sunny and hot and loads of restaurants in short walking distance. Our day started with the standard breakfast at the hotel followed by about four or five hours of soaking up the sun by the very good pool. It's a good size and safe for all ages. We found that most other guests go out from the hotel in the morning and so that's the best time around the pool. There's no trouble finding a sunbed at any time of day and a very good sun shade arrangement around two sides of the pool if you want it. The bar and snack bar bar could not be handier right next to the pool, again with plenty of seats.

We used the free wifi service in the reception area mainly to keep up to date with the Greek financial situation and check up on things back home. The family who own the hotel are always ready to help and advise and language is no problem. There is no doubt we would recommend this hotel to everybody and we will go back quite regularly to this lovely Island.

A pleasant arrangement of small blocks of rooms on a hillside near Petra, and 5 minutes by car from Molyvos. The beach is a 5 minute walk away, and the small centre of Petra about 10 minutes.
Rooms were agreeable and clean, with pleasant views of the gardens, but required a stiff walk to reach them.
But, oh dear! The food was so uninteresting. Something that looked like semolina cake for pudding and cold baked beans for breakfast just about sums it up.
Room safe (payable) and easy parking.

Spent a week at the Panorama Hotel in early June and I have to say it was one of the nicest 'package' hotels I have visited in Europe. Everything spotlessly clean, Vasilis and staff couldn't be nicer. Breakfast is basic but welcome, the pool and grounds are really lovely and I couldn't recommend Panorama any more highly for value for money. Thanks for making our break so effortless.

My wife and I have just returned from a week's holiday in Petra and we stayed at the Panorama hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. We were delighted with the quality of the room - spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. All the appliances and the decor appeared to be new and everything worked well. Good sized bathroom with a powerful shower and plentiful supply of hot water. There was even a shower curtain, which not only reached to the bottom of the shower tray, but also covered the whole shower area, which was large enough that the curtain wasn't actually wrapped all around you while you showered! Those of you who are veteran Greece lovers will know what I mean! The bedroom was very spacious with very comfortable twin beds and came equipped with TV ( not that we ever actually turned it on), hair dryer, fridge, plus air conditioner and safe, which were an additional charge. Rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday and towels and sheets changed in the middle of the week. Despite the hot weather (36 Degrees) the room stayed beautifully cool and on the few occasions that I'd did get too hot, the air-conditioner was very efficient.

We had paid for a side sea view and had a nice balcony with lovely view of the mountains at the back and a slightly obscured view of the sea because of a large shrub. This was not a problem as it shaded the balcony, keeping the room lovely and cool and the view to the mountains was more than lovely.

The hotel is situated In a beautiful spot at the edge of Petra beach set back about 200 metres off the road towards Molivos. The setting is really gorgeous and wonderfully peaceful - loads of bird life and the tinkling bells of the goats in the next field.

The pool area, like everywhere else in the hotel, is spotlessly clean and the pool is a great size. Although we generally went to the beach, only a couple of hundred metres away, there was never a problem to get a sunbed around the pool and there are some excellent covered areas for when the heat gets excessive.

At the back of the hotel is the most beautifully laid out market garden, which is clearly tended with love and affection and the produce is used in the hotel food. We were only on a b&b basis, and the continental breakfast was more than adequate, but we did have lunch at the hotel on 2 occasions and the food was very good.

The owners were always helpful and friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here. We will definitely be back and soon.

Room Tip: We were in Room 404 - the room stayed lovely and cool because the sun didn't hit the balcony unt...
