“Incredible Holiday Villa”
Reviewed May 31, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Villa Madonnia was a truly great experience and stay. Everything from the booking with Frank to the initial greeting with Luigi, groceries from Luca and in villa Service from Theresa was an absolute pleasure. Combine that with stunning scenery, fantastic location, and comfortable and not pretentious luxurious accommodations you couldn't ask for a better spot. Very highly recommended!

“Perfect stay at the end of a 2 week vacation”
Reviewed October 29, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed at the Villa at the end of our 2 week tour of Italy and it was a perfect way to end it!
Our Party consisted of 3 couples. We stayed in the 'smaller' version of the Villa. (The larger version of the Villa is below the smaller one and the swimming pool is a shared resource.) The setting is amazing. It's right next to the Madonnina, looking out at Praiano. As with almost all the buildings on the Amalfi Coast, the Villa is built into the side of a cliff. So everything is steep and has lots of steps but Man, it's worth it!

The villa has 3 bedrooms and 3 and half baths. The space was very comfortable and we never felt like we were crowded. The bedrooms were a good size and the mattresses were good. We're used to king size beds, so we had to adjust to smaller mattresses. The furnishings were a little dated but still very comfortable. There is PLENTY of seating in the living spaces both in and outdoors. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean with Angela (cleaning lady) coming in a couple of times a week to tidy up. The patio & pool areas were also great! The pool was surprisingly deep and very refreshing after a long day of walking around.

There is access to the Sea but be prepared to walk some steps! The 'beach' at the bottom of the steps is just rocks - no sand but it is nice when you finally get down there. There are beach chairs to lay on and a pool ladder to get you in and out of the Med. Just a note - keep in mind that is where you'll pick up the water taxis if you use them. And that can be an adventure when the sea is rough.

Big Shout Out to Luka! Our stay was greatly enhanced by the aid of Luka. He delivers everything you need for your stay. His mother owns the local supermarket and anything you need is a phone call away. Plus Luka can help make arrangements for restaurants or tours or anything else you might need. In fact he set us up for a day long boat tour that turned out to be the highlight of our stay!! It's amazing what a day of sipping Prosecco and nibbling on cheese & crackers while cruising around the Amalfi coast & Capri will do to reduce your stress levels :-)

Overall, the villa was a great place to unwind and kick-back. The other parts of our vacation were great as well and I feel this was the perfect ending to a tremendous two weeks.

“The best imaginable vacation.”
Reviewed October 8, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Villa Madonnina is even prettier than its pictures. The region is beautiful, nearby restaurants superb - not a sour note on the entire trip. Oh, I suppose one might wish for a heater for the pool, but that's really reaching for something to quibble about. A suggestion to fellow Americans - don't rent a car, driving here is an art form that takes a lot of practice, don't waste your time and good spirits on it. We took taxis and walked and rode in boats and left the driving to locals. The house has a huge amount of space, very well appointed. We were d lighted all around.

“Magnificent”
Reviewed June 1, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

Everything about my experience with renting Villa La Madonnina was wonderful. Starting with my contact with Frank, the owner. He is very friendly and very helpful. The Villa is breathtaking and situated in a perfect location for day excursions to the entire Amalfi Coast. Theresa keeps the place spotless and is an excellent cook. Upon a recommendation from Frank, I contacted Biagio of amalficoastdrive.com. Not only did Biagio pick us up from Naples and take us to the Villa but he also took us on many fantastic day excursions. Anytime spent with Biagio is a fun experience and an adventure. I highly recommend people contact Biagio to ensure that their experience on the Amalfi Coast is the most memorable that it can be.

“Most amazing vacation! My family didn't want to leave!”
Reviewed August 10, 2011 for a stay in September 2010

My husband and two teenage sons spent two weeks at Villa la Madonnina. All I can say is we can't wait to go back. The villa was amazing. There was information about restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, anything and everything you can think of in the villa for you. The owner was fantastic and so helpful, he even called while we were there from his home in Germany to make sure our stay was going well. A local grocery store delivered fresh bread to us everyday, along with any other groceries we may have needed. A local lady came every day to clean the villa and would cook for you if you requested. There's a private platform on the water with lounge chairs. A very short swim from the platform there's a small beach. The only thing I would warn about is that there's a lot of walking, especially up and down stairs to the sea. However, there is a pool if you don't want to make the trek down to the ocean. Quite a few of the local restaurants would come and pick you up from the platform, though. The villa is in a very convenient location and we can't wait to return. Our kids were picking out their Italian names in the hopes of relocating!
