We called in three times during our two week stay. Once for mid-afternoon gelati, once for a full evening meal and once for aperitivi (which were served with 'complimentary' olives, crisps and nuts - €6 per head).
On each occasion the staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal was reasonably priced considering that this is quite an expensive tourist area. For four of us (3 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts, 2 coffees a bottle of decent wine and a beer) came to €113.
The food was freshly prepared, hot and produced in good time although it was quite busy.
Somehow the Italian reservation system worked (we had wandered in earlier in the day and reserved a table for four). We saw a different waiter when we arrived and he showed us directly to our reserved table despite not having had to give name or number before. Not sure how it happened but it did!
We all enjoyed our food even more than we expected. Perhaps not the same as you'd get in a non-tourist area but that's the norm around Lake Como.
Menus are in Italian, English, French & German and the staff spoke good English but were happy to suffer our attempts at Italian without making us feel silly.
The terrace tables we sat at were directly on the road with views across the lake. There were tables inside and we did see mention of an upstairs terrace although we didn't experience it.
If the traffic is heavy the roadside seating could be occasionally noisy but the views were worth it.
We would definitely go there again. Our party was four adults but they seemed family-friendly too.
