What a lovely little cafe tucked out of the way! We stopped with an 8 month old baby and our 1 year old dog. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. The food was lovely and fresh too add to a great pit stop.

Thank Nic D

Thank you for your lovely review, it was good to meet you. The easiest way for people to find us is to look for the only pelican crossing at the south end of this one street village and look for the cafe pavement sign or our cafe flag. We can be seen from the over head viewing platform on lovers walk. We sell our own fridge magnets looking down from there. We hope you will make the trip over the Cat & Fiddle again and come and see us soon. Alan, Helen & Steve.

We stayed for a few days close by to Matlock and googled best breakfast places in the area. Cherry’s Cafe came up as one of the best so thought we’d give it a go. Set back a little from the main street we would probably have missed it had we not checked it out beforehand. This is definitely worth a visit, lovely staff, lovely breakfast (the nicest bacon I’ve tasted). Would definitely recommend.

Thank Diane R

Thank you for your review, yes we always use a top quality dry cured bacon and cook it on a flat griddle rather than a greasy frying pan. The easiest way for people to locate our cafe is to look for the only set of pelican lights on the south side of the village and look for our pavement sign. We look forward to seeing you again

Thank you for your review we hope that you enjoyed your visit to this beautiful village set in a limestone gorge in the rolling Derbyshire Dales. We would rather spend a little more time freshly cooking our food so that it tastes the best we can make it. Hope you will make a return visit now that you have been to the area.

We arrived here and it was empty...never a good sign however....

We sat down and in no time it was full.

Great service, friendly welcome and homemade soup to die for.

Highly recommended..

Many thanks for your 5 star review. We had in fact been quite busy on the day in question and had turned 22 covers prior to your visit, which for a cold day out of season in this popular tourist destination reflects the popularity of our cafe and the quality of service and food we offer including our homemade soups. Hope to see you again soon.

We decided to take a detour to Matlock Bath on the way home from a shopping trip and on finding the majority of places closed we came upon candy & cakes tucked away behind the main parade.

The hot chocolate was lovely and the homemade scones were delicious. We chatted with Steve and Alan (I think they are the owners) for a while about the town and illuminations.

I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area

Thank you for 5 star review. We make all our cakes here at Cherry's Cafe which is to be found at the top of the slope by the pelican crossing at the southern end of the village. We hope to see you again soon.
