“Comfortable, relatively basic accommodation”
Reviewed September 11, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I stayed at this property for 4 nights with my children in August. The property is in a good position, not far from beaches and in a quiet location. Good parking provision to the front of the property. The rooms were equipped with all the furniture you need, although of a basic standard, and had some good touches like extension leads. The kitchen was adequately equipped with much of the cooking pans etc looking quite new.
However, there were a few things which marred our comfort:
The downstairs living accommodation is open plan kitchen/diner/living. The large fridge was VERY loud. You certainly couldn't spend a peaceful evening watching TV with it rumbling in the background. Worse still, the fridge backed onto a wall which adjoined one of the downstairs bedrooms. The noise of the fridge penetrated through the wall quite significantly and would stop many people from being able to sleep in that room.
Plus the owners have put in some bizarre water saving ideas. I've seen push taps that you have to hold down in public toilets, but never push taps that you have to hold down to run a bath in a holiday let! The tap only ran for around 20 seconds - you had to keep pushing it many times to run the bath. And worse still was the fact that the shower (!) was push tap operated too - so you had to try and have a shower, repeatedly pushing the button to operate the water every 20 seconds. This made it very hard and inconvenient, particularly if you are a woman with long hair to wash. I think these are water saving economies that go too far, and not what I would expect to see in a holiday let which should be a bit like a "home from home". Because of the bathroom I don't think we would book this accommodation again.
