“A lovely sandy bay with amazing beach cafe!”
Review of Louisa Bay

Louisa Bay
Reviewed 19 April 2017

This bay is a lovely, fun experience. With soft, silky sand and natural looking walls for kids to draw on with chalk from the cliffs. The Louisa Bay Cafe has really nice food and tops of the experience. In the summer, bring a wet suit and body board to swim in. If you are coming in winter, bring towels and also sunglasses as it can be sunny.

This is a much small bay than Viking with not so much going on. There is a café which was closed when we visited but not a great deal else to see. It may be nicer when the larger beach next door becomes too busy?

Easy ramp down for launching and you can keep clear of most of the holiday makers and children swimming here unlike by launching from Viking Bay. It enable you to get straight on to the rockpools around the tidal paddling pool which pushes the waves up brilliantly for surf kayaking, but make sure you wear a helmet as you're guaranteed to get turned over every now and then. Best waves are Sept/Oct and March/April. Decmber to Feb can get too big and is a bit cold even with wetsuit, gloves, boots and hood!

One of the 7 sandy bays around Broadstairs that are gently sloping to the sea so safer than many for children and has really nice café for drinks and paninis etc plus close to Broadstairs itself for cream teas and the usual fish and chips

Quieter bay than neighbouring Viking Bay, brilliant for pure beach fun with stunning views, we just stayed here for hours, sitting, swimming & relaxing with little walks to the rock pools.
