My goal was to show the kids, ages, 9-24, nature and a place where roads and fast food do NOT dominate. This part of the world accomplished the goal. There are no roads to Sonora and access is hard; thus preserving the forest, the eagles and the wildlife.
Arriving at the resort is a thrill as there are seals; eagles and tidal currents that are spectacular!
It's right out the door and the tides come and go along with the seals and eagles.
There were 12 of us, four adults; two "kids" in their 20's and the rest of our group were ages 18 down to 9. We took the helicopter for the spectacular one hour trip across the bay; mountains soaring and inlets and lakes everywhere. You feel relieved to know such unspoiled places still exist.
Then when you hear the guide---on the comfortable and instructive ECOTOUR- talk about the salmon ---you again become concerned and rightfully so. This all needs to be preserved.
The hikes; tours, tennis and boat rides make this the trip of a lifetime!More
