I travel the world with my job and was here for an event across the last weekend. I stayed 5 days and this placed was perfect. In a town that is clearly rebuilding, this is your best bet for great accommodation. Walking distance to everything you need i.e Supermarket, Bank, Shops and is away from nightclub noise if you stay there on a weekend. Affordable, lovely staff, great setting and great service. Highly Recommended.

Room Tip: All are excellent.

What an interesting hotel. We stayed 3 nights last month and had a lovely stay. No TV, no phone, & no clocks in the room forces you to enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding you, especially when lounging in the hammocks. The owners and staff are so accommodating and offered special tea to sooth my upset stomach. We enjoyed the food and it was so peaceful eating out on the porch. Many thanks!

FOOD IS GREAT, service is terrible. I stopped going there years ago because of their "WERE TOO IMPORTANT TO SERVE YOU" attitude. You get there half an hour before closing time, your not welcome. Not once. Not twice, always!

Now. YEARS later I decide to give them a second chance and go for dinner. I call in advance and Guess what, "we only serve guests, not walk ins!" Heck. I really hope you all never go out of business with your attitude. A disgrace for the Swiss people. Unlink any.

Our family recently spent 14 days in Ecuador, 3 nights in Puerto Lopez at Hosteria Mandala. This was by far, our favorite place that we stayed. Our kids (ages 8, 7 and 13) want to come back every year now. From the meals, to the grounds and lodging, everything was perfect. We were able to take a tour to see the humpbacks, my son loved the whale skeleton and ghost bats and we could walk across the street to the beach. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating and the game room and music rooms were top notch. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained, as were our cabins. We will definitely go back.

Everything was perfect: Food, cabana (we were in the Lobo del Mar), gardens with two chilled dogs, many huge iguanas up in the three plus a few very rare white (northern ghost!) bats in one of the many palm leaves, beach right on the other side of the small street, and lovely owners! And all the art, so charming! The tours (Isla de la Plata for example) are offered even at a slightly cheaper rate than at regular places on the street (amazing service which is hard to find in Ecuador!). Most guests only stayed for a night or two, which was our initial idea too. But then we stayed for six nights and left wishing we could have stayed longer. By far the best place we stayed in Ecuador!

Room Tip: Lobo del mar was beautiful, but surely others are too.
