We loved this spot! Away from the hustle and bustle of Montezuma and tucked away into a jungle setting. Beds were comfy, pool was beautiful and people were friendly. We would def stay here again. Still think about it often

Hotel Celaje was my home while exploring the peninsula and I couldn't have been happier! Thomas and Beatrix were wonderful hosts. Thomas even took me to a waterfall. My room was super comfortable and clean. The food and bar always had great food & cold beer. The pool was a great cool down after long days in the humidity. When I come back to Costa Rica this will be a stop for sure. B

After a long journey on difficult roads we arrived in the late afternoon at the hotel. We were the only guests to stay which made us wondering for the first time. Then we checked-in. The resort was small some 5 huts and a restaurant. But it seemed to us that it is not well maintained. In the restaurant we were surrounded by sculls and dead animals. The owner of the resort was absent. Someone from nearby looked after us. Not very professional. The food as we had no other possibility was okay. The swimming pool was cleaned every morning so that was the highlight as the beach was not very attractive. Old deck chairs not very inviting. We decided to stay two nights instead of three nights. In all not worth the money.

We stopped here for breakfast the 1st morning of our honeymoon as we hadn't grocery shopped yet- the owner is a 'pirate' of a guy that speaks 1/2 good English (enough for someone who has no Spanish) as well as Spanish and German. The food is fantastic. Great fruit (duh) as well as eggs, toast, jams etc. Also had lunch there one afternoon of burgers---ginormous and delicious - the beef tastes a bit different than in the US but great and juicy. Fries are great too. There is a cool pirate theme/vibe going on as well as a pool out back and area towards the beach. Don't leave your food unattended--birds will steal it!

We stayed for one night and it was ok as we planned to catch the speedboat to Jaco the next day. The houses are quirky but dated and particularly the downstairs with the bath room tired. Pool and restaurant area are nice, beach area not very. The entire place feels as it wants an update.
