Good paella and steak. Veal meatballs ok. Excellent homemade chips. Large portions . Tapas as a starter were excellent for 5 euros. Good vin maison in pichet. Fairly priced.

I don't know if the Chef is indeed Mauricio, but kudos to him (the Chef) anyway: this is traditional Spanish Pyrénées cooking at its best. Tapas, meat or fish (inc. squid) a la plancha, paellas or confits, everything is fresh and delicious (or looks delicious - we could not taste everything) and does not come with boring fries, but with exquisite home-made sautées potatoes. Obviously a family-run business, the atmosphere is warm and even the bill is rather friendly.

We stopped in Ax Les Thermes as part of a day trip we were making from Barcelona. We picked Casa Mauricio bc they were so kind and engaging while we were looking at the outdoor menu. Seemed like a husband and wife restaurant. They spoke little English and we spoke NO French, that didn't stop us from picking a table outdoors and enjoying a fabulous lunch. This was the best meal we had eaten in 12 days, and was amazing! We had the white fish and rice plate, cooked perfectly, with the best garlic seasoning. The children had chicken breast with a teriyaki type glaze over it, and gobbled their food down as well. Dessert...oh my, the best creme brûlée I've had in 10 years!
If we ever make it back we will most definitely be dinning here again.

Great location in the centre of Ax. Offers a wide choice of home cooked, Spanish cuisine. Recommend the brochette - beautiful presentation, generous portion and very tasty. Friendly and efficient service. Great value for money. Will definitely return.

An excellent food corner where tapas and paella are suggested on best way , as for ingredients and price. Satisfactory menus , specially for meat and good list of wines.
Staff really kindly and involving atmosphere inside at the tables.
