We stayed in Portmagee Heights in preparation for our trip out to Skellig Michael. The home was very modern in comparison to other homes we stayed in. Monica was very nice and accommodating, but wasn't around as much as some of the other hostesses. She arranged our boat ride out to the island for us, which was very helpful! In order to get to town, you are better off driving. You could walk, but it would be a trek. The trade off is that you are in a much quieter, newer location. The B&B in town is on top of a pub, which was quite loud when we ate there. I would hate to think I had to stay in a room on top!
Our room overlooked the bay, and the views were AMAZING! The windows opened out,and gave us a great breeze to enjoy. Everything was VERY clean and well appointed.
The breakfast was very good, and cooked to order, but we were a bit nervous about the trip on the boat, and didn't eat much!More
