“Perfect Cottage in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

What a great find!
Merlin Cottage is perfect for a couple, it's well equipped with all the comforts of home and is located in the lovely village of Ingleton, with all the amenities one could require very close to your doorstep.
The Ingleton waterfall trail is very beautiful, the caves are great and the walk up to the top of Inglebrough is strenuous but worth every step.

“A Perfect November Weekend”
Reviewed 22 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of November and the weather outside was cold. Merlin Cottage was well positioned and easy to find, there's a Co op and a first class butchers within 2 minutes walk of the cottage and parking was right outside. The cottage was clean and cosy with just enough room for two we cooked in the cottages well stocked kitchen for all our meals during the stay. The under floor heating was incredibly warm once it warmed up making for a lovely snug time despite the cold outside. Ingleton water falls trail was literally five minutes walk from the cottage, White Scar caves were a short drive away as was the Ribblehead viaduct and many other short walks. Think I can safely say we will be visiting this cottage again. Highly Recommended.

“Lovely Location and a Fabulous Cottage”
Reviewed 3 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We had 4 nights in this beautiful cottage, everything we could possibly need was provided for. It was extremly clean, cosy and very welcoming and this is due to the owners who look after the cottage themselves, a very friendly, helpful couple who I suspect give us what they would want in a cottage holiday themselves. We toured this beautiful area and it was always a pleasure to return to the cottage on an evening to either sit in the courtyard to enjoy the evening sun and views or wander around the lovely village. Thank you for a wonderful break and we look forward to returning soon.

“So Good We Booked Again As Soon As We Got Home!!”
Reviewed 23 February 2013 for a stay in December 2012

Spent Christmas morning walking the Ingleton Waterfall Trail superb falls all swollen with recent downpours previous weeks. Had lots of locally bought homemade food goodies and local meats for Christmas dinner after our very long walk. Shops are wonderful, local people running small businesses so a very personal and welcoming experience. We had such a wonderful relaxing thoroughly chilled out week we booked for Easter as soon as we arrived back home in Scotland.

“A cosy cottage for two in a beautiful village”

What a fabulous well positioned cottage in a beautiful village. As soon as we walked through the door it felt like a home from home.
Staying in Ingleton in February, it was very cold outside and the cottage provided a welcome warm and cosy retreat from the elements. No slippers required here, thanks to the luxury of underfloor heating.
The cottage is extremely well equipped for a self catering holiday and everything we required was to hand.
The Ingleton Waterfall Walk and White Scar Caves are two attractions not be missed. Along with Frumenty & Fluffin and La Tavernetta.
A perfect cottage for two.

“Clean, cosy & well planned in a lovely location”

We booked a late break and were not disappointed. Great value for a 1st rate cottage. It was incredibly well kept and the photos don't do the living/dining/kitchen room justice, plenty of space for a couple. And oh my, that bed! Massive - a great nights sleep was had every night. There is a cute little yard at the back that you partly share with neighbouring cottage. And the cottage was constantly cosy warm with the addition of underfloor heating downstairs.

The location is spot on, at the top of the village, very easy parking on the road but we were also able to use the parking spot allocated at the back of the cottages. The local Italian restaurant, 3 pubs and Co-op were moments away so there is every amenity needed for an evenings stroll/dining around the village.

If you need a local butchers then they can be found down at the Country Harvest on the A65 northbound, but the local sandwich shop Hazel's make fresh bread daily in the village. If you want to try the local Italian do get there early as it only has about 5 tables and is open 6-9:30pm I think in the winter - lovely, simple and tasty dishes.

We did a lot of walks and Ingleton has enough of them locally to mean you don't have to be in and out of the car all the time, which was nice (thank you to the owners for providing a great local walks booklet). The location of the village is also great as there is an easy route in off a major A road, so no faffing about with windy little country lanes to get to the destination.

Very pleasant stay indeed, thank you to the owners for making it so!
