“Idyllic, romantic and very cosy cottage”
Reviewed 25 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We stayed at the cottage in January 2014 after returning to live in the UK and needed a base where we could be near our family and friends yet maintain our independance. What surprised us was the quality of the furnishings and equipment, as well as the lovely touches of providing luxuries such as some toiletries, food supplies and cleaning items. This cottage is a beautiful, clean and well maintained home from home where there is enough equipment and utensils to even hold a family dinner party! The owners live right next door and are very kind, helpful and hospitable. We truly loved the place and so did our visitors and are all "spreading the word"! It's ideal for putting up family and friends if they visit the area as well as those tourists who want to visit beautiful Yorkshire.

“Perfect little cottage, in the quiet & picturesque village of Honley”

We stayed here for 3 nights, over the Summer Bank Holiday weekend. Group was 4 friends (1 couple and 2 singles) all in our 30s.
It's a very tidy and well looked after cottage. Shower, Wifi, TV etc. all in good working order for our stay. Christopher was great to deal with. Very prompt in all communications, and more than willing to answer any questions before and during our stay. It's the little things that stand out - bowl of fruit, fresh milk were already there upon arrival. And the well-equipped kitchen was great for fixing up any meals/snacks we required whilst lounging about.
Just a 5 minute stroll to all local amenities. We bought food supplies from Paul's Butchery by the roundabout. Really tasty ham, and so cheap - definitely recommend. We also had dinner at The Lemon Tree (delicious pizzas), and Mustard & Punch (which was really nice, great staff and food, and really cheap if you get in early evening for the set menu option). We also visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Even on a busy day, it's such a massive and interesting site - highly recommend for a bit of a walk and cultural excursion, and only 30 minutes drive from Honley.
Everyone we came across in Honley were really welcoming and easy going. Highly recommend a chilled out, relaxing weekend in Honley - and Jeff's Cottage is your perfect base.

“Lovely well-equipped cottage - great location”

Stayed for 3 nights. Party included 91 year-old and a 2 year-old. Beautiful location and well-furnished cottage. Unusually the bedrooms & bathroom are downstairs and the kitchen & lounge are upstairs. This was a blessing as we seemed to pick the hottest week of the year which meant the first -floor was extremely warm, even with the windows wide-open, but the bedrooms were nice and cool. Owners very friendly & welcoming - lovely touches of large bowl of fruit, fresh milk and flowers on arrival. Very well-equipped kitchen, good supply of books, dvds, games, puzzles provided which might be useful for a longer stay. Slight problem with boiler needing to be reset frequently for hot water, but owners assured us this was going to be fixed. Double room a bit tight for space - no room for cot which was advertised, luckily we didn't need one. Very convenient for shops, good selection of restaurants, pubs, and other local amenities. Beautiful location, stunning scenery, lots of family-based attractions nearby.
