“A beautiful place to unwind and escape”

Park House is a lovely cottage in a tranquil part of Scotland right on Loch Carron.
It's a no-frills rental which arguably needs a little TLC here and there, BUT I really warmed to the place and didn't want to leave. I had some of the best nights sleep due to a comfy bed in a beautifully quiet and dark location.
We were lucky and had the best weather possible for where we were. As a result, we managed to explore a lot of stunning places including Plockton, Loch Ness, Applecross and Skye under blue skies and warm sunshine, It was a bit painful having to drive great distances wherever we went. However, the scenery was breathtaking.
In all honesty, our holiday was magic and we made ome great memories with our young children. If you can cope with no wifi and phone reception (for most of the time), and need a base to explore the alluring Highlands, I would recommend Park House.

“Great house, fantastic location and a wonderful holiday!”
Reviewed August 23, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The house is in a lovely position overlooking the loch and has everything you need for a great holiday. In perfect solitude but only 5 min in the car to the village of Lochcarron and a short walk the other way to the ruins of Strome Castle and an incredible view across to Plockton and on to Skye. We were actually booked into the smaller house next door but were upgraded at no extra cost as Park Cottage was free that week. This was a really nice gesture by the owners and was really appreciated by us all - not least by my daughter who had "the most comfortable bed ever" and who really enjoyed not having to share a room with her little brother! All in all a great place, beautiful area and a brilliant holiday.

“A quaint but comfortable and well equipped house for six”
Reviewed August 13, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We chose Park House to sleep six of us as Mum, who lives in sheltered accommodation in Lochcarron, couldn't put all of us up. Park House was a quiet location (several miles from the main road) with magnificent views over the loch. Plenty of parking at the roadside for us (and the occupants of the adjacent Park Cottage) The driveway was a bit steep, but not insurmountable, with a couple of steps to the front door (so not suitable for wheelchairs) We didn't chose a week with good weather (however in that part of the world you have to expect some rain!) but had a good time. Almost all our provisions came from the local shop.

We stayed in the cottage as a base for hiking around Lochcarron, Torridon and Applecross and found the location was ideal. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, in a quiet location not too far from the village of Lochcarron and overlooks the sea loch. We found the owners very helpful and the location was stunning. I would recommend the cottage to anyone, especially for those wanting to get away from everything for a while and explore the northwest highlands. We had a great time.

“Nice place to stay for a visit of West Scotland”

We have choosen Locharrontown as a site for visiting West Scotland, Park House was located in a quiet place front of the lock offering a lot of place for 5/6 people. Well equiped, the house was heated in the evening and the morning which was very appreciable even in august when the weather is cloudy and wet. We recommend Park House, considering that it is necessary to use the car for all the trips around which is in fact an evidence when you look at the map !
