Booked 2 rooms in this hotel via booking.com. One double (£90) and the other triple (£120). Rate was room only.
The rooms were the worst I've ever stayed in. Simply not fit for purpose at a fraction of the price. The twin was like a cramped student bedsit, damp stained the wall while the entire corridor stank of grease. The workmanship generally was very poor, the bathroom sink was filled with some kind of dust & there was hair in one of the bed that wasn't ours. The window didn't fit so rattled all night long. And there's no wifi in the rooms. And only 2 tiny capsules of milk so even a second cup of tea or coffee was out of the question...
That turned out to be the better room of the two we'd booked. The triple was a drab, icy attic room with a window that didn't close - the hotel's remedy for this was to pack the gap with cardboard!!! Really? For £120 a night??? Sleep in this room was nigh on impossible & the bathroom was outdated and dirty.
On complaint Reception responded that they'd spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on a refurb. Maybe on the Reception area and Restaurant but not on the rooms which, after all, are what guests are paying for. £30 was deducted from our bill but the whole experience was unpleasant and ruined what should have been a magical trip!!! The rooms we were put in are not fit to be let.
Overall the worst value hotel with the most unpleasant rooms I've ever seen/ stayed in. Staff would benefit from some Customer Service training too.
