Since hotel reviews (I think) should be helping identify differntiating factors instead of narratives that are more common for restaurants, here's a recap of my experience at Hotel Long Beach during the World Cup.

Pro:
-beautiful facilities, well-maintained grounds and pool with beach views
-friendly staff and good poolside service
-had what appeared to be a bodyguard at night which, despite not feeling that unsafe in Canoa, was a nice touch.
- Hammocks!! - we seemed to be the only people using them, but they were a nice way to relax
- strong AC - a must even in the winter season!
- 10 min or so walk to the beach barracas, about 15 min walk to Broadway
- will arrange all types of excursions for you (dune buggy, quadbike, sailing, massage, horseback riding) without having to deal with pushy guides up on Broadway
- breakfast buffet was good, not great. A variety of fruit, cakes, juices, and hot items that seemed standard for a Brazilian breakfast during our trip.
- Great pool in the Canoa cresecent shape. Also have a lap pool in an adjacent area.

Con:
-Wifi was quite spotty throughout the site (rooms or common areas)
-Beds were quite hard in our opinion.
- room wasn't very bright even with lights turned on
- seemed to have a hard time containing insects during meals, was quite buggy.

Room Tip: Rooms with a terrace (Garden or Pool) are a major plus if you want some outdoor space with a hammock

Long beach hotel has a very nice view and pool in Canoa Quebrada.
Great pool service and nice breakfast with good options between juices, cakes, sausages, eggs and fruits.
The food at the restaurant is very nice but a bit expensive if you compare with the restaurants on the street.
They need to improve a bit the service training. At the check-in time they just brought as to our room, nobody said about breakfast time, the restaurant or the leisure areas in the hotel or offered services - we found out that there was another pool by ourselves on the day that we were leaving, aswell the recepcionist offer us a buggy trip minutes before we check-out.
Our room was a standard at the annex complex. It was very weird and a bit dark. The bed was very big but the bed linen didn't fit on it. We had only 2 and hard pillows, one double sheet to cover and a single coverlet.
To get there you have to take Canoa Quebrada directions, once you get the try to find the small oranges plates on the poles around the main street.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms on the main complex, most of them should have a view.

We had a very good time. The staff is very friendly. As my daughter loves swimming pools, we had a great time. On Saturdays they have live shows. If you want to take a nap in the afternoon, I suggest to stay in the suites in the gardens across the street. Do not worry, as everything is very close. Additionally, the hotel is a walking distance from Broadway; so you do not have to worry about disputing parking lots during busy season.

The bungalows are very charming, hotel is very well located, a 5-minute walk to the beach and in a very safe area. The receptionists are very polite, waiters and waitresses are very nice and made every effort to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Lots of smiles.
However, there was a very uncomfortable situatios: the chef, who was new, was yelling and mistreating one of the waiters because a customer had requested a change in his order, which was appearantly simple. Anyways, we could hear everything from the restaurant. Not good...
Bedrooms were just okay. Very poorly lit. Bad TV reception. It was good that we wanted to spend all day on the beach and by the pool, which is awesome!

Fantastic hotel. It has a awesome swimming pool with a superb view. The Bungalow is great with it gigantic bed. Perfect for couples. Service is very good too and all of it for around $100 for one night.
