Spectacular scenery all around the waterfalls are just beautiful and so high. Get your cameras ready!
We passed this on the ferry which goes up the fyord to Geiranger. The trip was made more interesting by the onboard commentary. The Waterfall, which is made up of seven smaller cataracts, is known as the seven sisters. On the opposite side is a bottle like shape said to represent a young man the sisters would like to meet.
Whilst sailing out of Geiranger we passed the Seven Sisters falls which are another beautiful piece of nature.
Saw the Seven Sisters as part of our Geirangerfjord ferry crossing. Most of the falls were visible during our September crossing, which surprised me since the snow melt was mostly done. so must be even more spectacular in early summer. The ferry does announce when you get to the Seven Sisters so you can get your camera ready.
Perfect day in Geiranger, weather couldn't have been better. We suited up in waterproof suits, boarded the 15 seat rubberized inflatable boat, and hung on to our belongings (no lockers in the changing rooms).
The one-hour outing took us past beautiful falls, most notable 7 Sisters and, opposite them, the Suitor Falls. Legend has it the suitor proposed to all 7 sisters at different times and was rejected, each time. His waterfall is more robust and impressive. The sisters; falls are 7 streams emanating from a single high waterfall.
The suits were extremely hot. The RIB was a highlight of our day and our tour. Would highly recommend. Best way to get up close and really enjoy the falls and all the beauty in the fjord.
