Loved our stay with Pestana Delfim All-Inclusive. It's our second time at this property (although we've stayed in other towers within the Pestana group in Alvor.) Exceptional service, and while the building itself has aged considerably - the staff make every effort to ensure the guests are not inconvenienced in any way and are treated with the same respect, professionalism and courtesy as any of its other/higher end properties that form part of the Pestana complex in Alvor (or elsewhere, as we've experienced.)Rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable; and those with ocean view are very appealing. Personally, I find the beds too firm, but that is not a reflection on the hotel - just a personal preference that perhaps others may resonate with and appreciate knowing about.Food - the buffet is large and food is plentiful, varied and serves most nutritional requirements. You can drink the tap water without concern, but bottled water is available every day, both in the buffet as well as the bar(s). There is also a water cooler to refill your bottles. When the buffet is closed (between meals), there are snacks including hot dogs, burgers, chips, fruits, yogurts, cake and ice cream served at the Tucano bar (just inside from the pool.) Coffee, tea and juices are readily available throughout the property; and if you need to heat something up yourself, there is a microwave in the buffet. Pestana has introduced the use of wristbands so its guests are easily identified around the property; and while it affords you access to just about everything in the hotel, you can upgrade the wristband to include top-shelf alcoholic beverages. We didn't find it necessary as local beverages are very good, but the option is there.Pool is lovely, although I do not enter pools anywhere when I have salt water and warm sand between my toes :) Nonetheless, it's a large circular pool and there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The towel bar is beside the pool deck. You get towel cards when you check-in and use them to pick up your towels which can be use at the pool or beach. You'll need to return the same number of cards when you check-out or be responsible for paying for the towels.Beach - the property is beachfront but on a cliff, and access to the beach is a 2 minute walk via a sloped concrete path. The beach is public and very well maintained. Beach loungers/umbrellas are managed independently of the hotel and are paid/reserved on a daily or extended basis. You can also use your own. Waters are clear and relatively calm during the Summer season - you get occasional choppy waters but it's a safe beach for families. You're at the entrance of the cliffs and can walk around them during low tide (it's pretty spectacular!) Watch for falling rocks - that's a given near cliffs - and while I didn't see many falling, just the seagulls landing along the edges is enough to cause a pebble or two to fall.Entertainment - there is a children's club with outdoor play area and wading pool; nightly entertainment at Tucano bar; a variety of television channels sure to please everyone; and within the complex, there is a bowling alley - not to mention access to the sister hotels (though you have to pay for drinks/food.) The hotel is a 5 minute drive from Praia da Rocha where nightlife is buzzing every day of the week, and plenty of shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.Pestana is building a new complex across the street from their Delfim property, with the intent to renovate the current building once the new one is open for business. Their adjacent hotels are fancier, but also considerably pricier. Delfim is a great property for a relaxing vacation where you don't have to worry about anything, because it's all included (practically.) We look forward to continuing our visits to this and other Pestana properties, as the service is great!

We stayed at the delfim from 15/9/18 to 22/9/18 and it was the first visit for 20 years! We had a 15 th floor sea view room which was immaculate on arrival with very comfy bed and lovely cold airconditioning. We found the food to be of very good choice, always plenty of meat fish veg and deserts accoupanied by all types of self service drinks. The gym is basic but functional, the pool massive but clean, and although daily activities it was mainly for the French, as they overwhelmed all other people! One observation was that the entertainment staff are LOUD and the music which they have every day at 5 pm for aerobics was louder than a night club, not to everyones taste but there you go! The staff are friendly and efficient, maid service very good too. Night entertainment was poor, but did have an exceptional duet one night which were head and shoulders above anyone else. Alvor is aspecial place,it has the best ever beach and is a lovely town,if you want to walk to Alvor it is a mile walk so be warned.Overal a very nice stay in a hotel that has pulled its socks up in terms of cusomer care and food 4/5 is a fair mark

Great hotel, food in restaurant is very good. Entertainment in evenings poor. Pool entertainment is dreadful. They pump out the same few songs every day at an ear popping volume. You can't even escape it up on the 9th floor with the doors shut. Water aerobics, with 3 people in the pool, and music deafeningly loud. The majority of tourists are over 60 so not sure who this music is directed at. Hotel management, can you please address this. I'd love to return to delfim but not when I can't relax at pool.

Room Tip: To avoid the ramblings of the annoying entertainment reps shouting through a microphone, ask for a garden room

Stayed here for a week. Rooms are great, spacious and cleaned daily. Clean towels daily and toiletries provided by hotel. Safe in room is free and there is a small fridge.

Pool area is good. Large pool and plenty of sun beds available. The grounds is also 5 mins walk from the beach. You would need a taxi to get to the main town area.

Food not so great. One hot choice for snack bar each day (normally fish), crisps served from a basket that everyone’s hands had been in, and a collection of rubbery meats served each day every day. The restaurant had plenty of choices if you like fish.

Entertainment was not in English and it was hard to get involved in the activities each day.

Bar had all the basics and you can upgrade to international brands for 14 Euro.

A group of us stayed at the Delfim last week on a golfing holiday. The staff were very helpful. We all found the food to be better than average for an all inclusive hotel. Rooms very clean! Plenty selection of drinks and snacks all day by the pool. Several hot and soft drinks machines all over levels 1 and 2. The pool was large and entertainment was good for the kids. About a 10-15 minute walk to the very busy beach. The bars and restaurants are also nearby. Around €3 for a taxi. All of our group agreed we would return in the future.
