After a walk we drove down to and found this pub next to to the river. Friendly staff we enjoyed a couple of drinks and played a few games from the games cupboard. Nice atmosphere. Would thinks it's really buzzing in the summer.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was warm enough ( just !) to sit outside and admire the view of the river Wye . Excellent choice of local beers / ciders. The pub is cosy and welcoming and the staff friendly .

Beautiful location, food very good. Most of the staff were very nice but not all, good range of beers and cider.

Great food only downside as a family of 4 food was serviced 2 people at a time and side orders came very late so it didn't feel like feel like a family meal

A confusing lunch time visit and too many rules which don’t make what should be a relaxing lunch ... relaxing ... it was busy upon arrival and we found a seat in what we now know is the restaurant area of the bar.. after being given 2 menus by one waitress, another one told us we could only each off the a’la Carte. Menu in the restaurant and not the lunch menu. We upped sticks and moved outside which was not our preference as our young child doesn’t like the cold ... on ordering you have to go to one till to order food and then around to the bar to get your drinks which I duly did .. I ordered a side of bread to go with the chips for our 6 year old sons lunch as the children’s lunch menu is very limited .. only to be told I now needed to pay another £1.50 when the food arrived ... even though I ordered it at the time of ordering and parking for all of the other food and drinks ... very confusing ... we had the ploughman platters which were tasty , but I would say overall the food is pricey , yes you’re paying for s highly busy tourist location on the side of the river wye but it would be nice to be able to eat what you want where you want as a paying customer .. staff seemed happy to let restaurant tables be empty then to sell sandwiches./ food off the lunch menu ... doesn’t make business sense to me ..

Thank Snibbs
