We initially booked 3 nights here but extended our stay (as did others that were in the second tree house). Samitha is the most incredible host - he goes out of his way to ensure you're having a good time and have everything you need. The location is perfect, as a 2 minute walk to Hiriketiya with good waves and restaurants, and a 10 minute walk to Dickwella township. The tree houses are great, breakfast delicious, and great view. Highly recommend.
Only stayed 1 night here as they were booked out after that but Samitha was an amazing host, speaks great English and continued to help us after we had left the treehouse by booking a safari to Uda Walawe and also helping with anything needed. The treehouses are so nice, simple but such a novelty and really comfortable. Hiriketiya beach is a close walk and is just a beautiful place to stay. Would highly recommend this great accommodation
Firstly, thanks to Samintha for great hosting. Customer service experience can be mixed in Sri Lanka but Sam's got it spot on. Very pro-active with any requests (we asked for beach towels, for him to look in to arranging surfing lessons etc and he was always helpful).
I think it's fair to say that this is basic accommodation so if you are expecting air con and taps that run hot and cold at will, this place isn't for you! It is comfortable though with electricity, a fan for sleeping, balcony, adjoining bathroom and place to chill beneath the house. There's a shared fridge which is handy for keeping drinks cool and wifi is fast. The Sri lankan breakfast was tasty with variety of hoppers, omelette, roti, curry, dahl and fruit.
It is a unique experience and cosy accommodation to spend a few days amongst nature living with the wildlife. A tip is not to keep food in the room as a we had some creature visit us in the night to sample some of our snacks. The monkeys also wake up early and may create some noise but we were up early to head to the beach whilst it wasn't too hot.
The main beach is beautiful little bay and 5 mins walk round the corner. There are places to drink, eat and rent surf boards for £2 per hour. Food is a little sketchy and not great value on the beach relative to other places we ate in Sri lanka. We recommend the seafood kebab and red snapper at the third place along which is a class above the other establishments.
All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend this place to others!
