We were not sure what to expect but came out having thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The insect exhibit at the start was great. Huge beetles and butterflies all mounted artistically.

Then our guide Jose took us to the frogs. Jose spoke very good English and was very knowledgable. He made it interesting and fun. He was able to show us tiny frogs that we were unable to spot.

We returned in the evening to look at the nocturnal frogs. We were not disappointed.
Jose told us to look in the trees for sleeping birds, and we did find one.

Well worth a visit. Do get a guide if you do.

Our family had a mixed experience of this place - I loved it, kids and hubby said they were bored about mid-way (that might be because they were quite tired by the time we visited). This is not a pond, but rather a 'garden' with large terrariums with frogs and toads. I don't thing we would see much without a guide - she was very skillful about locating the frogs and pointing them with her flash light. It gives you a chance to see all those amazing tropical frogs which you'd unlikely see that close in the wild (from the tiniest frogs to the glass (transparent) to the giant predator one - I though it was very interesting). During the day they are not active, so you can come back in the evening (after 6) to see them presumably more active. I did come back at around 7 pm and found most of the frogs at the precisely the same places where we've seen them during our day visit. When I asked staff they said it is weird (but maybe not?).
There is also a nice collection of dried (and live) insects at the entrance.
I recommend it.

Despite going in the daytime our guide managed to find plenty of frogs some of them tiny. I guess for the money it didn't meet my expectations

Very close to the town centre. Our guide was so passionate about the fun stories of all the frogs. Top recommended!

It is a bit difficult to find frogs, some are very small. The best is to come at 19h 19h30 because most of them live during the night.
Although pricy, Remember that you will probably not see any of them in the park.
